Store Manager, Lebanon, NH

Gardener’s Supply is coming to the Upper Valley! In preparation for our newest store in Lebanon, New Hampshire, Gardener’s Supply is accepting resumes for the position of Store Manager.

The Lebanon Store Manager has responsibility for all operations at our Lebanon facility. As the NH ambassador for the Gardener’s Supply brand, the store serves as both a site for retail and wholesale commerce as well as the face of the company in the Upper Valley community. The store manager will ensure a dynamic and unique experience for our customers with exceptional service, merchandising and ambiance. As part of the leadership team for the retail division, the store manager will participate in strategic planning sessions and assist the Retail General Manager in setting the strategic direction for the retail division. Our ideal candidate will have a demonstrated record of success leading a multi-departmental or multi-unit retail organization of similar scale/volume; a minimum of 5 years experience in leadership/management; and 4 years direct customer service experience. This person will have a proven record of creating and managing budgets and achieving financial goals. This job requires excellent communication skills. Garden Center/Nursery experience strongly preferred. The ability to stay organized, focused and calm in a busy and dynamic environment is a must! Gardening experience is extremely desirable.

Administrative Assistant, Lebanon, NH

You will provide exceptional service by managing inbound phone calls and e-mail. You will also manage employee schedules, supply ordering, system reporting, and invoice processing. You will assist and coordinate with multiple departments including HR and Marketing. Our ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of MS Office including Outlook, Word and Excel; excellent customer service, communication, team building and listening skills. This is a full-time, benefit eligible position.

Building and Grounds Supervisor, Lebanon, NH

You will be responsible for ongoing maintenance of mechanical, automotive, electrical, plumbing/irrigation areas, repairs, carpentry, light construction, and snow removal. You will be accountable for the physical grounds, set training guidelines and work to ensure a safe environment for our customers and employees. Our ideal candidate will have 2+ yrs experience with carpentry, mechanics, electrical, automotive, and plumbing; experience supervising a team, individual or tasks; and extensive knowledge of, and experience with, heavy equipment. This is a full-time, benefit eligible position.

Administrative/Human Resources Coordinator

In collaboration with the Distribution Center Director, supervisors, and the human resources team, the Admin/HR Coordinator will be responsible for localized human resources and training functions, while managing administrative reporting functions at the Distribution Center. Our ideal candidate will have 4 years of strong administrative experience, including working with different employees; 1-2 years of professional human resources experience; an Associate’s Degree or equivalent education/experience; strong planning, organizational and communications skills; and a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Digital Image Retoucher/Asset Coordinator

We’re looking for a Digital Image Retoucher/Asset Coordinator to join our Creative team. This person will be responsible for editing product and editorial images in a fast-paced, high-volume studio, as well as maintaining the digital asset management (DAM) system. Our ideal candidate will have 2+ years of prior experience in commercial retouching; 2+ years digital asset management and/or related creative function; Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education/experience; expert-level skills in in Adobe PhotoShop CC; and proficiency in Bridge and Lightroom.

Ecommerce Web Designer

The Web Designer focuses on production and optimization of creative assets for our website, online marketing programs and associated functions. This designer utilizes strong Photoshop, HTML and CSS skills — and a facility with javascript, Dreamweaver and the Adobe Suite — to ensure pristine and responsive digital design execution. Our ideal candidate will have 2+ years of web design experience in an e-commerce environment, preferably business to consumer; be fluent in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver and Acrobat; have 1+ years of experience using CSS to support a responsively designed website; and also be fluent in web page production languages like HTML and Flash.

Web Developer

The Web Developer assists in troubleshooting and improving existing applications and participates in the development and integration of new applications. This person assures that all system components of the assigned web-based applications are operating as expected by the business. They assure upgrades and patches are scheduled and performed. Our ideal candidate will have 3+ years experience working with an eCommerce platform such as Demandware; 3+ years of programming experience in a business environment; and proven experience working with multiple modern programming languages and development tool sets used for web development.

Production Worker

We’re searching for a full-time Production Worker to join our growing team at our SERAC manufacturing facility located in Georgia, VT. This person will be responsible for manufacturing high-quality garden-related products. You will perform all set-up functions and will be expected to continuously monitor quality while striving for improvement and more cost effective ways to operate. Our ideal candidate will have physical stamina (able to lift 75 lbs.), previous manufacturing experience and/or a construction background, and will be a detail-oriented, self-starting team player.

Vice President of Merchandising

Reporting to the President & CEO, the Vice President of Merchandising will be responsible for developing and implementing an integrated merchandising strategy for all customer-facing direct channels, while also supporting the retail program. Programs developed are expected to expand and sustain the Company's customer and revenue base.

This exceptional opportunity brings broad, yet key, responsibilities, that include:

  • Participate in the leadership of Gardener's Supply as a member of the Key Manager executive team;
  • Work in partnership with the Key Manager group to develop and implement the GSC corporate plan;
  • Play a key role in developing the Gardener's Supply assortment strategy and overall strategic plan;
  • Interface with the Board of Directors;
  • Build a great team. Provide direction and coaching to develop talent, establish priorities to achieve company objectives and hold team members accountable for results;
  • Evaluate short- and long-term human resource needs and initiate strategies and actions to ensure that the team can deliver business results;
  • Build and enhance a scalable, robust infrastructure to support the current and future needs in Product Development and Merchandising, including systems, processes and talent.

Call Center Sales and Service Specialist

We're searching for several people to join our call center team. These employees will be on the phone with customers, building relationships and representing our company in ways that reflect our core values. In addition, they will contribute to average order size and strive for customer satisfaction on sales and service calls.

Qualifications include:

  • Experience in service and sales
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • The ability to research solutions to customer problems or to answer questions

These call center positions are full-time, benefit eligible, with two off-season layoffs: midwinter and midsummer-early fall. Total time of both layoffs is 24 weeks.
