A raised bed makes raspberries more manageable and improves productivity. Good support means higher quality fruit and easier picking. Suitable for red, yellow or black raspberries.

Planting Guide:

Raspberries

  • Plant several different cultivars to stretch the harvest season.
  • Space plants 16-20" apart within the row. Allow 4 to 6 feet between rows.
  • Summer-bearing raspberries bear fruit on the prior year’s canes. After fruiting, prune spent canes to the ground.
  • Fall-bearing raspberries bear fruit on current year canes. After harvest, cut all canes to the ground.
  • Mulch root zone with shredded leaves or straw to stifle weeds and retain soil moisture.
