VegTrug poor quality wood

I own many VegTrug beds and the last batch i brought from gardeners supply was subpar wood. I still stand behind VegTrug but they need to do a better job checking for damage wood. Gardeners Supply is a great company also.

what a wonderful convenience!!!

gardening is the best mental, physical, and emotional habit I enjoy!! this VegTrug inhances all aspect. The height if perfect, the size just right. have installed a drip system that seems to work very well. Me thinks the best of this is that hitting 89 years old allows me to continue with one of my most favorite things to do. Now if you could persuade the wind NOT to blow, I would say you are a miracle worker. LOVE THIS Planter.

Great product

We live in AZ and it is impossible to garden in our soil. This is a real quality product. We chose to put a sealant on it. It is very sturdy and we hope it lasts for many many years. We also bought the soaker system. I like the fact that the liner allows water to seep out so we do not over water. My plants are thriving and my back is spared from bending over all the time. I can see my husband wanting another one next year.

Update Review

I purchase a Vegtrug in May of 2014. At that time I gave it 3 stars due to the difficulty I had in assembling the planter. Many people have indicated that assembly was easy. Many stated it was difficult. I also added my own waterproofing to the material because I wasn't sure if this material would last in humid Houston, TX weather. Here it is March 2018 and I still have the VegTrug. It is very attractive. The frame has held real well. I had to remove all of the soil so I could change location. I am glad that I waterproofed the inside with my own waterproofing. A couple of the planks are rotting. The ends have some rot as well. The support pieces on the inside for the ends are just about gone. I know I can salvage this by buying some fresh material. I have some decking material for the slats of the trough and ends. It is thicker than the original material. Cedar for the long skirt sides. The mesh liner insert is still intact and shows no signs of damage. Will re-use it. I don't know what the life expectancy of this material was designed for but mine has held for at least 4 years. I think with a different material this could go longer. At least in this part of the country. So, would I buy this again? Yes, I believe I would. I still rate it at 3 stars. Not perfect but a decent product. It needs to be made with a more durable wood or have the cost reduced.

Love my VegTrug!

As I'm getting older it has become more difficult to bend over and pick beans. I have always had green beans in my gardens so was very excited to try planting some in my VegTrug. The results on my attached photo speak for themselves. I am loving my VegTrug!

Love it!

Plenty of room to plant. If the site you choose is not level, be ready with some sturdy shims.

Easily Assembled & Attractive

After my wife's knee surgery, she thought her opportunities for gardening would be over--or at least severely limited. We saw this Veg Trug and decided to give it a try, even though, even though I'm not particularly handy. Well, it took me only a little more than a hour to put it together, with my wife helping to hold a couple of pieces together. It was actually more work getting the right spot ready for it and then filling it with topsoil. It was all ready the same afternoon, though, and now my wife can hardly wait until next spring!
