From Gardener's Supply (

Thanks to You

Do you have any idea what you've done?

Irene relief

Gardener's Supply employees volunteered to help with cleanup efforts in Waterbury, VT, after Hurricane Irene.

Garden Crusader Johanna Willins

Johanna Willins, one of our Garden Crusaders, started growing herbs and vegetables in an abandoned lot in her Brooklyn, NY, neighborhood. She helped develop a local farmer's market that has transformed a neighborhood that did not have access to fresh produce.

Healthy Cities

Gardener's Supply has been supporting Vermont's Healthy City school gardens since 2002. Healthy City Youth Initiative was recently named one of the top 10 farm-to-school programs in the U.S.

Intervale farmers

These farmers work in the "backyard" of our Burlington, VT, headquarters, on a stretch of land called the Intervale. More than 25 years ago, Gardener's Supply began a community-wide effort to revitalize this unique region and reinvigorate local, sustainable agriculture. The result is the Intervale Center, a nonprofit that oversees land stewardship and farming activities on about 350 acres.

You've done a lot of good — and you probably don't even realize it. But every time you shop with us, you make a difference in the lives of people you've never met. How? Every purchase you make directly supports our mission of improving the world through gardening by funding grants, donations and employee volunteer-time.

When you chose Gardener's Supply for earth-friendly solutions, garden-tested gear, or nature-inspired gifts, you do more than make a smart shopping decision. You help us make the world a better place.

Thank you! We couldn't do it without you. Here are a few of the efforts your support has made possible:

  • We've volunteered thousands of hours of time to causes as varied as hunger relief, homelessness, and local hurricane recovery projects.
  • We've grown and given away over 10,000 pounds of desperately needed food to people in our community just this year.
  • We've honored dozens of Garden Crusaders across the country with cash awards and public recognition. Crusaders are outstanding individuals who are improving their communities through gardening projects.
  • We've donated more than $1 million in cash and products to non-profit gardening, hunger-relief and community organizations.
