How to get my 11 year old son to help with dinner prep!
By Leigh Ann
from Fort Worth, TX
Comments about : Zipstrip™ Herb Stripper:
I live in TX. and grow fresh rosemary, thyme, lemon thyme, basil, and mint all year and a few others from March to November. So I cook with fresh herbs all the time. I got this a couple weeks ago and it was making meal prep much quicker. Then my son saw me using it and wanted to try. Every meal now my 11 year old son asks to help with the prep so he can use this. The Zipstrip would have gotten high marks from me for the job it was doing for me, but the time with my son happily helping with the gathering and prepping of herbs...priceless.

Picked the rosemary and thyme a couple of days before I used them in holiday cooking. The leaves broke off from the stem easily and fell right into the cup. Easy and no mess!

Got it for my daughter last Christmas, got two more this Christmas - one for me, too. Efficient, easy to store. YAY!

Easier and faster to use than by hand. Use it all the time.
Works really only on herbs with sturdy stems
from St. Louis, MO
Fine for rosemary and thyme, but herbs with softer stems. like cilantro etc, just break when you try to pull them through. It's a cool little gadget and I'm still going to play with it.

Does not work as well as I thought it should.
from Tulsa, Oklahoma
I have some lavender twigs, they would not slide thru removing the leaves. Maybe a small cutting blade on holes would work better.
Great for harder stemmed herbs
Works wonderfully for rosemary but often breaks stems with thyme, oregano which are softer. I still love it for its ease in stripping rosemary.
