These self-watering window boxes let you create a smart, consistent look around your home, while ensuring your plants don't dry out. They have big water reservoirs that keep soil moist and plants healthy. An easy-to-read water level indicator helps you keep the reservoir full, and adjustable steel mounting brackets allow for wall or deck rail mounting.

Comments about : 39" Self-Watering Windowbox:
I've had one of these hanging on my deck railing for a couple of years. I was able to raise lettuce and have it so handy. With this latest purchase (2 more) I will have a salad right at my fingertips. And the self-watering aspect is ideal for someone who can sometimes be distracted from things like watering. Thank you.

Can't wait for it to warm up so I can plant on my porch.
from Greenville, South Carolina
The planter boxes themselves seem pretty good. We've only had them planted a week, so will really need a few months to assess them properly and evaluate the self-watering feature. My porch railings are just over 4 inches wide, so the parts didn't fit all that well and a few screws and lock washers were missing. Required 2 trips to the hardware store to figure out how to adapt the brackets to fit our railings, but I thing for most standard sized porch railing the installation would have been much smoother.....if all the parts had been present.

I use these as "liners" inside custom wooden planter boxes
from Hot Springs, Arkansas
I have used these "windowboxes" for years as liners inside of custom wooden planter boxes I have built so that I have the look of the custom planter boxes with the function of the self-watering planters! My deck in Chicago was the talk of the neighborhood because it was so lush and pretty.

My deck in Chicago.
I have bought these window boxes repeatedly as I have moved.
I originally bought about a million of these (OK, maybe a dozen) to fit inside cedar boxes as self-watering liners on my 4th-floor balcony in Chicago. That balcony was the talk of the neighborhood with my lush plants along the perimeter of my railings. Then when I moved to Kentucky, I left those in Chicago and bought new ones for my new home. I only stayed in Kentucky three years and then moved to Hot Springs, Arkansas and just built a new deck with planter boxes built into the railings sized just to fit these window boxes as liners. They hold lots of water so I can plant lots of plants in them (the more plants you plant, the more often you do have to water, of course). I really crowd my plants in there and they grow lush and thick. I've been extremely happy with this product over the years. The only downside is the water gauges get "frosty" after a few years, but Gardeners Supply sells extras so you can replace them.

So far so good
from Rolling Meadows, IL
Installation was straight forward, window box seems to do what it's meant to do. I particularly like the water level indicator. Although installed after the worst of the dry summer months, I am optimistic that it'll be great next year as well!

Replacing same window box over 10 Years Old
By Bergamini Farms
from Westford MA
Previous one lasted over 10 years. Still in good shape just wanted a new one. These are well build and stand up to neglect such as leaving them out in the winter months. The previous box faced the sun the majority of the day and barely showed any aging.

Instructions hard to find!
from Cohasset MA
Love the planter but what a pain to find the installation instructions! They are hidden on the webpage displaying that item on the website. Wish they were enclosed in the box like 99% of other instructions or they could have at least added a piece of paper in the box which noted to look on th website for instructions to assemble.
