This thing works GREAT! I had one before made in Italy, but I screwed it by not cleaning it. This one works twice as good!

It does the job, but has some issues.
By Crazy Eddie

We purchased this press and the kit which gives you 3 additional screen sizes. The unit comes with a funnel that attaches (with little plastic tabs) to the end of the screen. When using with the different size screens, you must first detach from the originally used screen, and then attach to the new size screen. We first, had difficulty attaching the funnel to the screen that we were first using, and we had to use extreme force to attach the funnel to the screen. (We were afraid we would break off the plastic tabs on the funnel, thus making it useless. We first called Gardeners supply, asking for advice, and they referred us to the manufacturer. We then called the manufacturer, and they acknowledged the issue, but had no simple solution. They did send us (for free) another funnel, in case we broke our original unit when we took it apart. We never were able to safely (without breaking it) detach the funnel from the screen, so we left these two pieces attached, afterwashing them thoroughly. The only other issue is that, when making tomato sauce, the screen quickly plugs up with seeds and skin, and it requires constant cleaning. But that is just the nature of whatever product is being put into the machine.

This "Tomato Press & Sauce Maker" is Great
By Snelling Family

Last year we purchased the "Tomato Press & Sauce Maker" from Gardner's Supply Company's, and wish we had learned of it years ago. After one season of easily churning-out sauce from our tomatoes, we can't imagine doing so again without the press. Setup is easy; clean-up is easy; and the end results are nothing short of fantastic.

19 separate parts and a 15 step set up
from Rochester, NY
Couldn't wait to get this. Bought 3, one for me and 2 as gifts. Opened the box, saw all the loose parts and went directly to the instructions. 19 separate parts. 15 steps to the instructions. Okay - maybe I could do this once. But the cleaning instructions....DISASSEMBLE THE PRODUCT!!! Who would go thru this ridiculous assembly each time you used it! I wouldn't and I wouldn't expect anyone else to either. All 3 of them are going back!
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Merchant response: We are sorry you are disappointed with your Tomato Press & Sauce Maker due to the number of pieces it has and the assembly instructions. IF YOU HAVE ALOT OF TOMATOS THIS SEPARATES THE SKIN AND SEEDS AND MASHS TH PULP INTO SAUCE GREAT IF YOU'RE INTO CANNING. IF NOT JUST FREEZE IT UNTIL READY TO COOK COULD BE MADE INTO TOMATO JUICE BY PUTTING IT INTO BLENDER WITH SOME SALT & PEPPER, YUM!

I use for processing tomatoes for sauce. Definitely saves time making the process easier. Wish is was a bit more sturdier of a product. Also the rubber base has a horrible odor. Maybe a different product can be used for that. I have used it and washed it several times and it still smells. Not bad for the price. Will most likely purchase a better one for nest year

Needs a tweak!
Makes good sauces & seedless jams, but a little hard to figure out assembly. However, to take the plastic cup off the metal part is very difficult. I had to get a strong man to do that! He was afraid the plastic would break, it really needs to be made of metal.Other than that, it does the job.
Must have for canning/preserving
I have a bad back and I now can make salsa and sauces all day. So easy to use. Makes canning fun again. Was originally skeptical about the plastic parts but now understand its for saving the expensive screens. So sadly disappointed that Gardeners doesn't offer it at a more reasonable price like I have found elsewhere.
