Grow delicious tomatoes in just one square foot of space! Our new Gardener’s Best® Tomato Grow Bag uses less planting mix, and top-to-bottom nylon handles make it easy to move. It's made from patented fabric that air-prunes roots for stronger, healthier plants. The fabric also aerates soil, prevents heat build-up and allows excess water to drain away. Grow Bag folds for storage. Reusable year after year.

Grow Bag Falls Over
from Newington CT
Comments about : Gardener's Best® Tomato Grow Bag Set:
I usually love all of Gardener's tomato growing products, but I did NOT like the Grow Bag! No matter how much we tried to keep the tomatoes hydrated the soil would dry up way too fast, and the Grow Bag with Ladder kept FALLING OVER! We finally gave up and repotted our tomatoes.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Easy to move around
from Lewisport, Kentucky
Couldn't decide where to plant my Kiwi's, so I purchased the grow set to over Winter them inside. With the threat of frost last night, the grow set was easily transported into the house.

My experience growing tomatoes in these
from Stratford CT
As I have a somewhat shady garden, I bought 2 of these to put in a wagon and "follow the sun". I did not use patio varieties but my heirloom oxheart tomato plants. They started out nice, but became very tall and spindly, with very few tomatoes. The same variety I planted in the garden were much fuller and produced many more tomatoes, even in the limited sun exposure. I can only think that somehow the restricted space for the roots affected the plants somehow. Really weird. I will try eggplant or keep it to patio tomatoes. Disappointed.
Merchant response: Tomatoes do need about 10" of growing depth for their roots so this should be adequate. We're sorry that you have been disappointed with this product. Adaptable to other places!!
from San Jacinto, CA
For Valentine's Day I bought my berry loving sweetie an olalieberry and a boysenberry bush. We have no 'yard', just a patio so we put them into large containers. They grew like crazy in our patio; sprawling and climbing all over. Control was very necessary! So I shopped until I came across the Gardener's Best® Tomato Grow Bag Set. We have trimmed back the berry bushes and put the support framework into each container. The berry plants are growing up, around the frame and thriving. We're happy and hoping this serves as well when the plants are bearing fruit; making it easier to pick the berries. In the meantime the bags have been commissioned as grocery carries and I LOVE them! Thanks!
sturdier support with the complete set
from Buckingham, Pa
I at first just ordered the bags, but I find that the bag with the built in support channels work much better with tomatoes and peppers. I have ordered an additional 6 for next year. The supports are easy to put together and the rings easy to move around without fear of breaking them.

Unique one pot wonder
Great compact design for my cherry tomato plant. It has it all - lightweight, trellis, aeration. Love it.

I've never had tomatoes grow so big!
from Newport News, VA
I bought two of these this spring for my cherry tomato plants. I put a roma and a beefsteak plant in my raised beds. The cherry tomato plants grew to about seven feet tall by early summer. The roma and beefsteak didn't even get half as tall (they did really well the year before in the raised bed, so not sure what happened there!) I've never had so many cherry tomatoes in my life. I recently bought two more for the other tomatoes for next summer -- I'll plant something else in the raised bed for next year!

I would buy this AGAIN.

I am a renter, not an owner and the past 2 years we have had to move. We are vegetable garden lovers and our new place has a VERY small yard- not big enough to do much of anything with. My toddler LOVES fresh tomatoes from the plant so I HAD to figure out a way to be able to have a tomato plant, without a garden. THIS IS THE ANSWER! It's able to be moved if needed. It works for small cherry tomato plants as well as medium roma or large beef stakes. Comes in a variety of colors, surely one matches your scenario. Thumbs UP!

My tomato plant is doing awesome!!!!!

from Amesbury, MA
My tomato plant is now 5 feet tall and has become too top-heavy for this grow bag. While my tomato plant appears to be healthy and is loaded with green fruit, it has tipped over twice now, knocking off some of the fruit. I like the concept of the adjustable cage but will be using it in a larger, heavier pot next year and will repurpose the bag for a smaller plant or not using it at all as I am unhappy with how quickly the poppy color has faded and become discolored.
