Make up to a half gallon of your own probiotic-rich pickled vegetables in just a few days. Place the ceramic weights on top of the prepared vegetables and seal the jar with the unique air-lock lid that prevents outside air and contaminants from entering. I got one head of cabbage as it was a late season item. Shredded it and filled my small batch fermenter and walla , now have fresh kraut. Life is good!

I love fermenting foods and these are perfect for small batches. For just me crocks are too big and heavy. I can make pickles, gardenera (hot mixes vegetable salad), many types and varieties. I'm trying Kimchi next.Love it!!!

Mold and Poor Instructions

I was really hoping this would be a simple way to produce my own sauerkraut, but it's been worthless so far. I've tried it at least four times, and seem to get the same result... mold and slime on the top. I've made sure that all of the contents are submerged in water. After 3 or 4 days, mold and slime forms on the surface. You should NOT have to slough off moldy or slimy material every couple of days. While the setup instructions seem to be clear, having detailed illustrations or photos would make a huge difference. The company's website isn't any help either, and does not have the specific videos mentioned in the instructions. It's possible I'm doing something wrong, but after more than one failure, you start to wonder if there's a manufacturing defect. VERY disappointing.

My sister sent this to me for Christmas. I already had fresh carrots and onions from my garden I grow in the green house in the winter and added cauliflower to it. Easy to use and the quality is awesome. Would recommend to everyone who likes to can or pickle. Will be doing pickled cucumbers and beets this summer.
