Outdoor entertaining takes a new twist with our ingenious Plant-A-Bar. Grow herbs for your favorite cocktails so you can harvest a fresh sprig as you relax at the bar. Large enough for vegetables like tomatoes, too. Durable butcher-block cedar sides are crafted from reclaimed wood, with rustproof aluminum corners and trim. Bar shelf folds down when not in use.
To make the most of our precious forest resources, we use reclaimed pieces of high-quality North American cedar from lumber mill trimmings and give them new life in our butcher-block planters. Only the best reclaimed pieces are selected and glued together to form strong, solid panels, which are planed smooth to highlight the attractive variations in color and grain. The skilled craftsmen in our Vermont factory transform the panels into these uniquely beautiful planters.

Awesome product and made in Vermont
from Essex, Vt
Thanks a gorgeous piece! Only thing is say is it's COMPLETELY disassembled! It's definitely a bit of a pain at first. Once you start going it's okay though. I'd definitely recommend!

Gorgeous and functional!
This piece absolutely transformed my patio. It's gorgeous and adds a nice screen on that side to the neighbor's yard. It's study and the bar shelf folds nicely and feels strong. I used the all natural cedar oil stain that this site sells which is beautiful, but I then decided to plant mini hydrangeas instead of herbs (since I already have an herb garden) so I think I wish I had used a regular sealer that would last longer. I will probably apply that at some point. I spread all the wood out and out the stain on first which made it easy. The instructions could have been better, but all in all it didn't take me long to build and wasn't too hard.

Absolutely love our new Salad Bar!
This is on our deck, just outside our kitchen we enjoy eating our salads on the bar and reach into our herbs and edible flowers to add flavor. It is a beautiful piece of furniture that looks like art. Someone told us it looks like it is in an expensive restaurant.

I LOVE THIS PLANTER BAR!!
from Irvine, CA
I love this planter bar. It was crazy easy to put together, my husband and I did it in an afternoon. I was a little skeptical that all the pieces would come together when it was time to attach the last corner, but after a few taps with a rubber mallet it was done. The screws provided are super cheap and I would recommend purchasing new ones. We also had to drill a new hole in one of the metal side flat supports, because it did not line up. It wasn't a big deal. We put it together on our concrete patio, this caused scratches on one of the metal corners. I would definitely protect them if possible. You want to put it together where you're going to use it, because it is SUPER heavy. The directions call for a screw gun with a 3 1/2-4" long Phillips bit, you ABSOLUTELY need this to attach the shelf. The shelf itself is a little tricky to put up and down, however if you read and follow the directions it is doable. I.e) "Hold the handles and lift the shelf before releasing the handles" IT WORKS!! . I would definitely check that all the shelf brackets are locked when you open it, it is easy to tell if they're not. We have already used the bar several times. One warning... the black metal gets REALLY hot.I placed my order on line so I could plan when the delivery was going to come. The person I spoke with was extremely helpful and was able to schedule the delivery within my tight schedule. She also recommended the "ECO wood treatment" when I asked her what I could use to protect the wood. I definitely recommend using this to protect the wood. We put it on after we assembled the bar, but if I did it again I would treat the wood before assembly. This stuff drys really fast and you can handle the wood while it's wet. Save the leftovers as I noticed a few small spots I missed and wished I had not discarded it.I am still working on what I'm going to plant and I will update the pictures when I do.
