Mini-greenhouse protects young cucumber, squash and melon plants from cold temperatures and chilly winds. You’ll be amazed at how much faster plants grow — which means an earlier harvest! Set it up in seconds: Release the toggles and it pops open, ready to place over plants. The top is made from mesh to allow warm air to escape, preventing overheating, and it also lets water in. When the weather warms up, you can unzip the top and leave it open for even better ventilation. Made from durable, reinforced greenhouse fabric. Flattens for easy off-season storage. Loops at the base let you anchor it to the ground with Earth Staples, sold separately.

Can't believe the difference these make

Comments about : Pop Up Cuke and Squash Accelerator:
We had a cold wet spring and I couldn't plant my garden very early. I used these pop ups and can't believe how fast my plants grew. They were protected from cold and wind and they really thrived. I ordered more to use next year. I also use the pop ups for tomatoes and love them.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

In addition to protecting against cold, the mesh seems to keep flea beetles off my eggplants.

Easy to use and doesn't take up much room to store. It works with my tomato cages.
from Colorado Springs
I was able to start some herbs outdoors much earlier than I have in the past. I will purchase more of the pop up accelerators for future gardening. Sturdy and reusable.
My squash, cukes, and anything else I will start early will be so happy, they will stay warm, and safe.!!

good idea, but pay attention when using
from Sedona, AZ
This is a lower version of the tomato accelerator; same diameter, just lower in height. which means it has the same problems. Its light weight will allow it to be picked up by the wind and just pull out any earth staples when the top is zippered closed. At the same time, with the top open, the plants within are protected from winds and the intense southwest sun. The soil does not dry out as quickly either with these in use, even when opened. There is a limit to its temperature protection, low 30's allowed the top leaves of the squash plants to get damaged and the plants were only up to 4 leaves or so, still small. For extra protection, put a row shelter over two of these with a board over that for holding it all down after finding all the above across the yard after some gusty winds last night.

Pop Up Cuke and Squash Accelerator
from Placerville, Ca.
I place these over summer produce when I want to prolong the harvest, like bell peppers and eggplant. I also use them for new starts of kale and lettuce that are in the ground now for winter harvest. It keeps out the squirrels and rabbits that get under the fence. And though I have a high fence protects plants from the occasional deer that jump in. I wish it had larger holes to allow stakes to hole them down. When I am done using them I can fold them flat to store which is a nice feature.
