Carry a Bushel of Coir Mulch in One Hand

  • Lightweight mulch block hydrates to 2 cu. ft. of mulch
  • Mulch helps suppress weeds and conserves soil moisture
  • 100% organic, biodegradable and renewable

We’ve all been there: lugging heavy bags of mulch to the car, straining our backs and making a mess. These dehydrated coir mulch blocks weigh just 9 pounds and are delivered right to your door. Just add water and in 20 minutes, you’ll have 2 cubic feet of earth-friendly mulch. Made from coconut husks, coir has better water retention than bark, and reduces the temperature and moisture fluctuation by 50%. Keeps its rich color, too.

Product Details

  • Each block weighs just 9 lbs, makes 2 cubic feet of mulch once hydrated
  • One block covers 12 sq. ft. at a 2" depth; 8 sq. ft at a 3" depth
  • Made from coconut husks

I will never buy this product again.

It is not said the amount of salts in all of the coco- coir products here.It reads as if it has washed salts out and would be ready to use. -WRONG!!I have been set back way over a month of any growth. My plants yellowed, leaves curled, black spots here and there. So I spent our first nice day dumping the coco coir off my plants, and repotting in regular soil. I gave it a chance and I got set back months and thousands of dollars. When buying a coco-coir product, beware they are full of salts .The roots did not even grow into the coco-coir in 1 months time.First time in 30 years I have not seen root growth in a medium. I would love thousands of $ back.check your product before you sell it-especially when almost 100% of this stuff comes from other countries.

BEST mulch for keeping weeds down and plants moist

I use this everywhere in my yard. Keeps plants moist for a good start and keeps weeds from coming back. I have used this for 2 seasons and has a good last. I have no had to reapply every 2 yrs as other mulches. Also use in planters, flower pots for keeping plants moist. Easy to hydrate and saves space if you need to store unused blocks.

Easiest way to mulch ever!

As I have gotten older it has become harder to lug those heavy plastic sacks of mulch out of the car and out to our many gardens. The mulch block is light and easy-just drop the block into a wheelbarrow and add water. Easier to deal with and less plastic waste. I also love it that it is made from recycled material.

Love this product!

Very high quality mulch that does not break down too fast, and stays put even by my gutter spouts.

Especially good for the aging gardener

I'm aging out of all lug-a-heavy-sack customs, and I was delighted to find this as an alternative. Plus I'm also looking for things I can do, if not once and for all, at least for at least for once or twice or thrice in a decade rather than every freaking gardening season. I haven't used this long enough to know how often I'll have to apply it, but I am heartened by all the reviews that speak of its longevity as a mulch. My advice is to put this block in a wheelbarrow after stationing the wheelbarrow where you'll need it. Believe me, it makes more mulch than you would think, so you don't want to saturate it inside and have to lug it elsewhere. Plan ahead so that you can let it sit for a couple of days to make sure it's fully hydrated. Break it up and add more water if you come to any dry chunks; the water will evaporate on a dry day. When it's to your liking, spread it. Though I think it's wonderful that the bagged mulches improve the soil so much when they deteriorate, I've been working on my gardens for a couple of decades, and I'm past that stage. I just want something that will hold my improved soil where it is and will stay there as long as a natural product is capable of staying. And looked at from that perspective, I imagine this is a far more economical option.

This is the second order and will order soon.

Very effective to use on my plants such as tomatoes, grapes, pomegranate, guava, desert rose and fig tree.

I like the idea

It's a little to early for a total review but I like the concept behind the block, easy to handle and store

I had used this mulch for 2 years & love it.

My garden has minimal weed growth & the mulch put down 2 years ago has not completely disintegrated yet . I retains moisture so much better. I won't use anything else this mulch.

Wasn't to my liking after all.

It was compact in the bag. It did re-hydrate in my wheelbarrow in about 20 minutes or so as described. I wasn't a fan of the woody/chips looking pieces strewn throughout as I was hoping for a more fluffy appearance, and the orange color was even more pronounced once it was ready to spread in my garden bed. Once I had shoveled it around my shrubs, honestly, it looked horrible and I regretted it immediately. I'm sure it will do the job as promised, which is keeping down the weeds and helping the soil underneath to stay moist in the heat. But after all was said and done, it wasn't to my liking after all.
