With a heavy-duty tray and insert plus a vented dome, this seed starting set-up holds up to 72 seedlings and is reusable year after year. And unlike flimsy trays that buckle and leak, this tray is leakproof and rigid so it's easy to carry. The heavy-duty insert has 72 cells, with holes in the bottom so you can easily push out the plugs when they are ready to transplant.

Keeps plants moist
I purchased two of these Heavy Duty 72-Cell seedstarter kits with high expectations. While they work - I am currently using one of the two - I have issues with them as follows: The one I am using is warped with one side being up higher than the other, and the lid doesn't sit as it should although it closes; but it is frustrating because it looks so...off! Also, while the side and top vents are good ideas, I've already lost one of the side vents, and the top vent doesn't appear to fit well, either. I personally think that this design needs more thought and work.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Heavy Duty seed starter kit
from Menlo Park
Used for the first time to start Lewisia cotyledon from seeds. So easy to use, I'll try it with other plants as well.

Jury still out
By Oregon gardener
The vents on top are a nice feature but the germination rate on my first try was lower than normal. The seeds in the center section did not germinate. Those around the outside all came up and are healthy. There are more variables but the seeds were new and process the same as usual. I am trying again and will report results.
Just what I was looking for

This product isn't flimsy like I've seen in the stores. The cover is great it has an adjustable vent. The bottom tray hold water for bottom watering. I'm so happy with it!!

Best Way to Start Seeds
By Joe the MacGyver Gardener

I have a butterfly garden with lots of butterfly weeds (milkweed). I have been collecting the seeds, but have had a low yield when I sow them directly in the ground. They are sprouting like crazy using this Seedstarter Kit.
