You’ll be amazed at how fast and healthy your seedlings grow. We’ve solved the challenges of over- or under-watering with the no-fail self-watering feature. Simply fill the reservoir and plants get the water they need, when they need it. That’s worry-free watering! Forget flimsy, single-use look-alike seed starting kits; our heavy-duty system is reusable, again and again. It includes an extra-sturdy leak-proof reservoir, platform and planting cell tray that are all dishwasher-safe, making them easy to clean and sterilize between uses. And the capillary mat, which delivers moisture as seedlings need it, can be used over and over; simply hand wash between uses. A clear germination cover maintains proper humidity while the seeds are germinating. The support platform that holds the planting cells doubles as a seedling ejector. All at an unbeatable price! We recommend using our Organic Seed Starting Mix, sold separately.

Sturdy trays but hard to remove seedlings
These trays are very sturdy and the pad that wicks moisture makes it easy to ensure that your seedlings don't dry out. But when it came time to transplant the sturdiness of the cells made it hard to get the soil blocks out, and the pronged tray the recommended to use was not sufficient.

Two very successful years producing seedlings with this product. I got the seed starting potting mix the first year but not this year. I wish i would have gotten it this year too. Will definitely invest in that next year.

These are exceptionally sturdy, and the capillary mats do an excellent job of keeping the soil moist. I like this small 12-cell size for starting seedlings in my small greenhouse--they're easy to move I can keep track of what I've planted in each. Superior in quality to other self-watering seed starting trays I've used.

I like how the trays are sturdy not flimsy. Self water feature is nice too.
Really Solid Product

About Me School Garden Club Advisor
Some starter kits are so flimsy and don't last year-to-year. These are really solid and durable. They were really easy to use with my fourth- and fifth-grade students. We planted tomatoes and pumpkins at our garden club meeting, and the students were able to follow all the steps with little support. We have them under our grow lights now and can't wait to see our seeds sprout!
GrowEase Seed Starter Kit
from New Hampshire
After four years, a similar 24 cell kit started crushing and bending and it was time to replace them. I have ordered garden supplies from Gardeners Supply over a few years and decided to get four of the 24 cell Seed Starter Kits. I was surprised how much sturdier these kits were compared to my old kits. The sturdiness really made a difference when they were loaded up with soil and water in the trays as I have to germinate the seeds in my laundry room (on top of the dryer) and then transfer the trays into the basement under grow lights. I can tell the Grow Ease Kits will last much longer than my previous kits. There were some negative reviews about people not being able to eject the plants when it came time to put them in their garden. I know from experience using the other kits that you have to run a table knife around the inside of the grow cells to loosen things up, then take a small spoon and scoop the plant and growing medium out of the cell.

Wonderful product for seed starting
By Mary, Mary Quite Contrary

I have had several of the old style (styrofoam) seed starting systems and this one is far superior. The pieces are dishwasher safe and that means not having to hold the pieces in the bleach/water mixture to sterilize them. It was easy to fill with the seed starting mix which is my favorite for starting seeds.
