Originally used by Maine clam diggers to hold and rinse their catch, these hods are perfect for harvesting and rinsing off vegetables and gathering flowers, too. Made in New England, this hod is constructed from pine and maple with hand-rubbed oil finish, with food-grade, vinyl-covered mesh. You'll find yourself using it for more than just harvesting — carrying picnic items, storing potatoes and squash, gathering items to bring upstairs, holding guest hand towels and more. Choice of two sizes: Small and Large.

Comments about : Garden Hod, Small:
I purchased the small garden hod for my wife. She is currently using it to tote gardening supplies, and will begin using it to collect vegetables when they are ready to harvest. It will also make a great basket to rinse and store the vegetables in the kitchen.

I purchased the small Garden Hod. It's well made, excited to use it this summer. The wood isn't finished and I plan on treating it with a coating of food grade mineral oil.

I can take it to Farmer's markets, shopping & I won't have to take the plastic bags. My friend said the other day she wants one.
Gardeners Supply Large Garden Hod

My wife requested this hod as a Christmas gift. It was on sale at the time it was ordered but unfortunately, it was not going to be available until after Christmas. So I ordered the small garden hod as well. The large hod is light weight and sturdy and has an aesthetic design. The hod is more convenient to use for collecting our garden vegetables and herbs than the weaved basket that we were using.
Gardeners Supply Small Garden Hod
My wife wanted the large garden hod for Christmas, but it was on backorder. So I ordered both the large and small hods. She likes to use the small hod to carry around her smaller gardening tools.
Beautifully crafted hod

This harvesting basket is elegant in its simplicity and craftsmanship. Sturdy, well-balanced, classic design. Strong wire mesh bottom great for draining produce after washing. Generously sized. Mine is new so I can't speak to how it wears, but it certainly feels sturdy and well constructed. And it's lovely, to boot.

I have been wanting one of these for several years. When it went on sale, I just had to have it. I can't wait to put it to good use this harvest season.

Love using the hod to pick my produce. Whether lettuce greens and radishes in the spring, onions and beans in middle of season, or carrots and potatoes at end of season.Especially love the hod for washing and then allowing the produce to air dry.
