Nestled in a chicken wire basket, this beautifully glazed crock looks right at home on your countertop. Only you will know it's there to collect fruit peels and vegetable scraps until it’s time to bring them out to the compost bin.

Great for kitchen scraps
from Long Island, NY
I ordered this canister to collect our kitchen scraps and organic waste that we didn't want to end up in a landfill. It's great a great size for the amount of waste we normally have and looks great on the counter. The little handles are great for grabbing it with one hand while cleaning dishes and the carbon filter keeps all the bad smells contained. It's also very easy to clean.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

attractive kitchen addition.
from richmond, va.
I ordered this so I could collect kitchen waste for my composter. Its very attractive, sturdy as possible, takes up little room. I like its wire mesh enclosure. I like its charcoal filled cap. It cleans easily. It does very well with coffee grounds, tea and plate scrapings. It does quite well with vegetable peels and the like. I need to empty it about twice a week unless I've been peeling a lot of fruit or a fresh pineapple or something like that. Those things fill it up pretty quickly. Otherwise it holds a lot conveniently.

Thin but nice

I enjoy the compost container, but I'm afraid it wont be long before the lid and or container gets broke.

What a great way to save kitchen scraps for the compost
from Waterford, CT
This compost crock works great and looks nice on the counter. It's easy to clean and allows us to save all of our kitchen scraps from cooking for the compost pile instead of throwing then in the trash. My only complaint is that I wish the crock was a little thicker. I'm afraid if I happen to hit it on the sink while cleaning it might break. Also the wire basket that holds the crock is a little thin and has already broken in one spot, but it's not that noticeable. It is well worth the price.

The color, shape and size I love. I thought it had a sealed suction lid, but it doesn't. I bought to use as a scrap holder for compost. It seems to be working, but I worry that if I don't empty often there will be smell and gnats.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Looks Good Works Great
from Needham, MA
We had several of the previous crock. It looked good but we had difficulty getting the waste out and cleaning it. This version works great. The waste slides out and cleaning is easy.
A good investment
It sits on my counter, easily accessible and unobtrusive. It holds more than I first thought. This is my first time composting and this makes me feel better that I am returning to the earth instead of forever in a landfill.
