Pesky squirrels will be totally stymied by this bird feeder with an adjustable, weight-sensitive trigger; the seed doors snap shut the moment they hop on. It's also built to last of durable powder-coated steel with a clear acrylic seed column. Easy-fill top and built-in hanger; holds 6 lbs. of seed.

Squirrel proof feeder
We love it, it's easy to fill and it last a long time because it holds so much seed. The birds also love it.
So far, the squirrels haven't figured out how to steal seed.
It hangs from my deck rail, where I can see it from the living room. There don't seem to be as many birds feeding from it as I expected; I guess I'll have to adjust the weight sensors.

Handy, sturdy feeder

This was a gift for Christmas, and it is attracting our winter birds very nicely. It's also neat, compact and sturdy. Love the large capacity, too!

Takes squirrels about 2 months to figure this out
It took our squirrels two about two months to figure out how to lift the lid. Then the squirrel climbs right inside the feeder and eats all the seed. The lid does not latch particularly securely, so it's easy for the squirrels to open it.But, if you can place this feeder in a location where the squirrels can't access it, the birds enjoy the perches and eating at the feeder.I have some great pictures of one of our squirrels sitting inside the feeder, happily eating. The pictures make me laugh so I suppose that's another benefit.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Not Squirrel Proof
By TN Farmer
from Philadelphia TN
Nice feeder, built well, easy to fill. But not squirrel proof. I have had this feeder for about a year and it only took the squirrels in my yard about a week to formulate their plans of attack. One group pushes the lid up and eats inside, while the other group hangs by their back feet from the wire handle and eats out of the tray. I would like to see this designed with more roof overhang to protect the seed from getting wet and not feeding down. However, the squirrels eat it fast enough to keep the wet feed from clogging the works. As to the question 'would I recommend this'? I would with the caveat that it is not squirrel proof and to decide accordingly.

Only squirrel proof for so long
By is there a squirrel proof feeder?
from worcester, ma
As with most squirrel proof feeders, the squirrels eventually figure it out. The lid is not secured tightly. Eventually, the squirrels figure out to lift off the lid. Today I came home to find a squirrel inside the feeder eating seed. But, it took several months for that to happen.
