Comments about : Crop Cage, 4' x 8':
Has anyone kept this up over multiple years and can tell me how the frame holds up? I purchased my first one - it was very easy to put together and looks good. I will use bird-netting, not the zippered net that comes with it.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Deer Just Walk Right In
from Kerrville, Texas
Bought two for my raised beds. Some trouble getting them to fit on top and secure to edges. We were very pleased initially. They look great and it was fairly easy to get to all sections of the garden. However, the deer quickly figured out how to get their noses under the zippered sections and eat whatever they could reach. So we tied the edges down with twine. The deer then worked on getting under the sections with bias tape ties and tore all the ties off from the bottom of the netting (they were only glued on). So I sewed them back on securely. Next the deer managed to walk right through the zippers and destroyed the several of the zippers. In addition, they tore hole is the sides in a couple of places. Some holes I could repair, but others I could not. I would really like to keep using the cages and would gladly buy replacement netting if it was available, but I don't really want to buy the entire cages again. I did find that if I also sprayed the entire area with deer and rabbit repellent, I could keep them away, but the point of buying these was to not have to keep buying repellent.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Mesh is easily gnawed through
Idea is good, but no match for squirrels. Mesh needs to be stronger. A lot of money for such poor quality!

We use this over our blueberry bushes. We really tire of the "bird fight", and having them eat the berries around regular bird netting. A semi-permanent solution that can be set up in spring and taken down in fall. We love the fact that we can open a door, go inside and pick the berries. Wish I had this last year.
Already thinking of buying two more

I use it to keep the squirrels from stealing all my tomatoes

I used this cage for protecting my tomatoes from squirrels. It worked well for three months. Recently, when the fruit ripened, they chewed through the netting in two places. I repaired them and put a piece of metal fencing on it, but I'm on my guard. I would have giving this 5 stars if they didn't do this.
I like this one!

This cage was easy (for 2 people) to put together, seems pretty sturdy, and is tall enough to stand up in. The zippers are heavy duty. Even with only a 2 pins to hold it down it doesn't move and the beasties don't get in. We shall see how easy it is to take down for the winter - I'd think it isn't sturdy enough to leave up all year in the North East.

Great for covering my blueberry bushes
from Kent, WA
Would have given this a five star rating, however two of the zippers have already failed and this is just the first season for using the cages. That said this is the first year we have had buckets of blueberries! (The birds always beat us to them.
