Efficient, safe and simple to operate, this chipper/shredder has all the power to get the job done, and it's a pleasure to use. It quickly chops branches, twigs and fall leaves into small pieces. No messy gasoline and oil to deal with; just plug it in and it's ready to go. A slide-in box collects chips for easy transport. The fine chips are perfect for spreading around trees, shrubs and perennials to minimize weeds and conserve moisture. Or, add them to the compost pile.

Useful for chopping up sticks and small branches
By Caroline the composter
Well made and sturdy, easy to move around. Has a nice big box to collect the wood chips. Not so good for leaves which are hard to feed in and easily clog it up, save them for the compost pile!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Don't waste your money

There are so many safety features on this shredder that it can't be used for anything except 1 inch or less limbs. Leaves are not able to feed down through the hopper because the slot is only 1 inch across with a rubber membrane preventing anything from reaching the blades without pushing it through with the plastic pusher tool. It takes 10 minutes to push one hopper full of leaves through the slot. It would take weeks to shred my quarter acre. To feed in a small limb, you have to cut off all of the branch forks and feed them individually. It takes ages to accomplish anything.
oak leaves do not compost very quickly - shreading them ,makes it easier to fill composter for faster decomposition
Probably wouldn't buy this again.
It will work fine for very small jobs. The hopper is way too small to shred much in a reasonable amount of time. If you shredding tree branches then, as advertised, they must be relatively small and you will have to feed them into the hopper one at a time. So, as I said, this will be very time consuming if you have a lot to shred.

Permanently failed the second time I used it. If you have twigs or smaller curly branches, it won't chip them. The chipper clogs and you have to take it apart and unclog it. It jams very easily because it is under-powered. The electrical switch failed the second time I used it. It's in the garage waiting to go to the dump.

I would certainly buy this product again.

what I am specially grateful about is that it was very easy to assemble the Wood Chipper, even for me, a 68 year old woman. My sister and I used it immediately upon arrival to process my garden waste, including tree branches and leaves and debris. It worked wonderfully, and my garden path is now covered with my very own wood chips. Everybody visiting me is very impressed.

No. This is only a wood chipper not a leaf shredder.

Tried it as soon as I got it but feeder bucket is too small to hold many leaves and must push them through protective barrier so would take a long time to do a small amount of leaves
I would buy this again.

Yard cleanup - small limbs and growth too large to place directly in compost.
