The larger of our exclusive CedarLast elevated garden boxes, this handsome planter has an ample 13" planting depth so you can grow a diverse vegetable, herb, or flower garden — use our free Kitchen Garden Planner tool to create your custom plan, or try one of ours!

Reminiscent of Mission-style furniture, sturdy construction sets this apart from other planter boxes. Built from solid Western red cedar, with time-tested mortise-and-tenon joints, it's designed for years of use. Pair with the 6' CedarLast Trellis, sold separately, for vining flowers and vegetables. Let the cedar weather naturally to silver, or protect it with our food-safe Clear Waterproofer.

Shoddily constructed -- would not buy again

    • Floor boards do not fit together tightly
    • Pre-constructed pieces were shoddily built
    • Wood arrived in a damaged condition

    Best Uses

As I took the pieces of this CedarLast Elevated Planter Box out of their packing box, they fell apart in my hands. The flimsy staples and weak glue meant to hold several of the pre-constructed pieces together had failed completely. I ended up having to basically rebuild much of it before I could even get started on the actual assembly. Plus, the wood was fractured in several pieces. And, though the diagram shows the floor boards fitting together nicely, they do not, leaving gaps in the floor. I have built several planter boxes from scratch myself. This time I thought I'd pay a bit more for the ease of construction. Bad choice. The only reason I didn't return it was because it would have been a huge hassle to do so.
