When you're tying bamboo canes together to build a trellis, bean tepee or fence, use this flexible cord that's made especially for the purpose. It has a wax coating that protects it from the elements and grips bamboo securely.

We use this most extensively to attach deer fence to poles and trees. Also used to tie back unruly plants and growth. This is a very useful tie/string to gave in your gardening basket

This is the best cord for creating pea trellises with bamboo poles. Does not slip; holds tight; lasts through a whole season and beyond.
Excellent, long-lasting, aesthetically pleasing ford
It seems almost silly to write a recommendation for this kind of product ... but this stuff is really wonderful. I discovered it more than a decade ago, and have been using it ever since. Mainly, I use it in my hobby greenhouse, for two different purposes: lashing together (Japanese-style) large-diameter bamboo to make an internal scaffolding for vines within the greenhouse and to hold automated misting tubes and nozzles; and for mounting orchids, bromeliads, gesneriads, and begonias on cork-bark "trees" I create. In the former application, using multiple thicknesses of the cord in the right way looks like proper Japanese lashing ... but this cord never rots or mildews, and stays strong for YEARS. In the latter use, using just one or two thicknesses makes the cord almost invisible, yet its strength and durability makes it perfect for holding plants in place. For ordinary "staking" you would need to be careful, as the thin cord could set soft stems.

Versatile and long lasting

This lashing cord works well on my peony stakes and bamboo supports. It disappears into the foliage and can be reused another season if you choose.

Could not have been more PERFECT
This product is so perfect to tie anything up in my gardens. No rot, holds tight, and so easy to work with. When you tighten it because it's waxed it stays tight until you tie the knot. I needed another spool and was worried I couldn't remember where I purchased it. This time I stuck the name number and email from Gardeners.com inside the spool. Everyone should keep this twine on hand. I love this product.
