Now you can place your bird feeder or birdhouse anywhere in your yard, so you can enjoy watching the birds from your kitchen, living room, porch or patio. The kit includes five 16" sections of 1” diameter pole; use as many sections as you like for the height you desire. The kit also includes two adapters that allow you to mount a wooden or metal item at least 3" square on the bottom. Black, powder-coated steel pole is unobtrusive, letting your feeder or birdhouse take center stage.

I got this as a gift to hold up a wild bird feeder outside my parents window. My dad seemed pleased.

Will it stay up?
from Medford WI
This pole kit seems to be well made; however, there is no three prong support to keep it stable in the ground. I pounded the lowest portion into the ground over half way but it looks as though it is leaning already. If a bird nests in the bird house I mounted on the pole, I hope it stays up long enough for the baby birds to grow up.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I bought this pole kit to mount a bird house. Unfortunately, I did not look at the pole kit closely enough before ordering it; I blindly trusted Gardener Supply to sell a workable product. I have always had good success with Gardener Supply in the past. This kit does not have a two or three prong base to anchor the pole in the ground. I put it together (the pole seems well made, otherwise), put it out in the flower garden as deep as I could shove the pole into the ground, and, after the first rain, I found the birdhouse and pole on the ground as the straight pole just tipped right over in the wet soil. I would not recommend this pole kit.

My husband put a pipe inside the pole, and it still leans, not worth the price.

Yes I would buy again

I ordered this pole kit to be used w our recent purchase of the Butterfly house. Unfortunately the pole had 2 cracks in it .The great thing was when I called to tell them about it, they were extremely apologetic and sent out a new one that same day!! I would certainly buy from them again for the Customer Service alone . In this day and age that's hard to come by. I can't wait to get the Butterfly house up.
Universal Pole Kit
The Universal Pole Kit cannot be much handier for providing a quick way to put up that bird house or bee/butterfly house in your yard--- but --- a heads up on the product. The multiple pole pieces slip together easily, in fact too easily, because once assembled, the pole will not stay together when moved, (that is, the entire pole will fall apart due to the lack of a friction fit in the pole pieces). To rectify, I simply put a small piece of duct tape on the narrow end of each pole piece to provide some friction when pushing the pieces together, and presto chango, a nice pole assembly, and a quick fix. When the pieces are pushed together, the tape cannot be seen, but, provides just enough friction to keep the pole pieces together. Even with the tape, the pole can still be dissembled easily if need be, but can now be moved around as a 72" pole and not fall apart. This is not a deal killer for this product--just a heads up. The provided mounting bracket and screws (provided), attached nicely to the wood bottom of your feeder or bird house. The kit I received (as a gift), was 72" in length. Once hammered into the ground for stability, the pole seems to be a tad short, so I wish this product came in longer sizes, (perhaps it does, I simply have not checked yet). Please note the pole tubing is powder coated which should provide a robust barrier to the elements over time. This product provides a quick method to mount a backyard feeder, or whatever, and should last many years. .

Loved the universal bracket and the variable length poles; sure beats trying to use conventional pole or square post. While we are still in the grips of winter and haven't used yet, if the finish on the poles lasts and the poles hold the intended butterfly house upright, this will be a good find.
