Additional Information

NEW | Cozy Garden Cloche Protects a Row of Plants

  • Sturdy and attractive cover helps soil warm up in spring
  • Protects plants from cold temperatures and chilling winds
  • Keeps plants safe from animal pests
  • Line up several to cover a longer row!

This durable cloche creates a mini-greenhouse that helps warm the soil and protects a row of plants from harsh weather. That means you can start planting earlier in spring and extend the season into fall. More attractive than fabric row covers, it keeps birds, cats, dogs, rabbits and insect pests away from plants, too. Adjustable vents at each end help prevent overheating. Lift the cloche using the handle on the top for easy access to plants. Reusable, year after year. Includes four anchoring stakes.

Ackward assembly

By The jersey girl

from Central jersey

Verified Buyer

Pros

  • Heavy enough
  • Impressive look
  • Large coverage space

Cons

  • A little pricey
  • Awkward assembly process
  • Plastic covering easily scratched

Best Uses

  • Early spring starter hot house
  • Keeps items inside dry in a driving rain
  • Protects plants well in wind and from critters

Comments about : Row Garden Cloche:

I used it on my porch at first to harden off plant and acclamate them. Then to my garden plots to protect young plants from elements and animals. Once established can be removed and usd to start next group of plantings. Cloughes were very awkward to assemble almost needed another hand when screwing cross piece and handle on

Difficult assembly, seems semi-sturdy

By Jen

from Rochester, MN

Verified Reviewer

Pros

  • Looks great

Cons

  • Challenge to assemble
  • Less sturdy than expected for price

Best Uses

  • Protecting young seedlings
  • Sewing seeds early

Comments about : Row Garden Cloche:

Assembly for 2 of them took me two hours. Directions say more than one person recommended...but honestly, I wasn't convinced that would help very much. The hardest parts for me were getting the holes lined up and getting the short screws in. I am a little disappointed in the sturdiness for the price. I have yet to see how well they perform and how well they hold up next year...fingers crossed!

Pros

  • Light and perfect for the deck trough

Cons

  • Rusty water drips when removing

Best Uses

  • In winter on the d Ct with a heating coil

Comments about : Row Garden Cloche:

The "little greenhouse" worked wonderfully through the winter on our deck. The herbs lived through with the addition of a heating coil.

Close but no cigar

Pros

    Cons

    • Light weight, not as useful as a cold frame

    Best Uses

Comments about : Row Garden Cloche:

The cover photograph has streaks in the polycarbon panels that makes it appear thicker (similar to quality greenhouse construction). What arrives is a sheet that wobbles and slices if one attempts to assemble this alone (the directions suggest two assemblers) and will devolve into language that would impress a drunken sailor. I would suggest you bribe your helper with a bottle of wine or fine dining to help him or her forget the ordeal.

This is a great product, once it is assembled. I would have liked to know in the description that there is "assembly required".

      Extremely overpriced

      By Bugs Mc

Comments about : Row Garden Cloche:

For the price, I expected a higher quality product. The plastic arrived pre-scratched and looking well worn. The end panel on one of the units was dented and creased. The pre-punched holes on the other unit did not line up properly. The vents also blow open in a slight breeze. This reminds me of a product one might purchase from a discount store.

I like this product overall, it's let me get my beans in the ground before the season is quite right! Looks fantastic and doing well despite some high winds and heavy rain this season.

          Not worth the price.

          Pros

          • Fairly easy to assemble.

          Cons

          • vents spin freely making it usless

          Best Uses

          • outdoors with no wind

Comments about : Row Garden Cloche:

Did not have much of a problem assembling but it does take some ingenuity figuring out how to roll the clear plastic into the slots. The vents however are the problem as they spin freely making this mostly useless in trying to start crops early as soon as a breeze comes along it opens up letting the cold in. Every time I go to check on this the vents are opened up. Bottom line this is not worth the price.

Don't try to assemble with someone you love!

          By Suzala

          from Ancram, NY

          Pros

            Cons

            • Flimsy material
            • Impossible to assemble
            • Screws too short

            Best Uses

Comments about : Row Garden Cloche:

I think I might have enjoyed using this for a season but it was impossible to assemble. The flimsy shell didn't align properly with the metal frame and the screws were too short to attach the shell to the base of the frame. I don't know for sure but it's hard to imagine that this would last for more than one season. Save your money!
