    Makes potting so much easier!

Comments about : GSC Potting Bench:

I have resisted buying a potting bench for years, because of the cost. I have an old table I have been using. I decided to treat myself to this because I am seriously trying to simplify my life and make things easier on my body and mind. I have already gotten a lot of use out of this bench! Having the tub to work in has proved to be such a wonderful tool! I can empty my soil into it when repotting, mix in new soil and not only is it neater and cleaner, there is also less waste. Plus, the height is easier on my back and the shelf below is a good spot to put things I am using and keep them off the ground! I LOVE it! Assembly wasn't bad either.

    Just what I was seeking

    By Vickie

    Pros

    • Great Wood -- Smells Good

    Cons

    • 1x5 Panels Not Stable

    Best Uses

Comments about : GSC Potting Bench:

Bench arrived with 1x5 panels secured to 1.5 x 1.5 rails only by brads/staples. Several came loose during assembly, and also, when sliding/removing top shelf panels. We will be securing the panels and rails with 1.75 stainless steel screws (counter sunk). The product is worth the extra effort, but would have been better if the panels were secured better when purchased.

Upgrade to Brass Screws and a Polyurethan Coat

      By Backyard Grill Rod

      from Denver, CO

      Pros

      • Pieces Are Already Cut
      • Sliding Top
      • The Plastic Tub
      • The Size

      Cons

      • Add Screws For Stability
      • Needs Polyurethane Coat
      • The Staples Don't Hold

      Best Uses

      • Use For Outside Drink Bar

Comments about : GSC Potting Bench:

For both of the top pieces and the bottom shelf, the staples that assemble each do not hold. Reinforce with weather-proof wood screws.

Also, where there are knots in the wood, the large screws do not want to go through them. The predrilled holes could have gone the length of the screws.

It's the right size for a drink bar for outdoor entertaining.

If I could have salvaged the pieces I might have kept it but afraid to drill small holes for screw in fear of wood splitting.

It was easy to put together however it wasn't predrilled everywhere it was supposed to be which meant I had to go buy a drill to assemble it.
