Our Gardener's Revolution® Planter has a unique top-down watering system that delivers the right amount of moisture to the soil. The new, woven-poly liner opens with a zipper for planting, then zips shut — you won't injure the plant trying to push it through a hole. The liner is also air-permeable to aerate roots and prevent heat build-up. An improved, two-part powder-coated steel cage encloses the liner, and the planter hangs from our unique swivel hook that makes it a breeze to turn your plant. -Birds kept flipping out the plastic water container after they used it as a birdbath.
-I then placed a rock inside it -then it was filled with bird droppings
-The wicking system did not water appropriately and my plant did not do well. By the time I watered myself the plant was too stressed and died

I bought the tomato plants to go with the planter and the tomatoes did not get any bigger than cherry tomatoes. I planted them the last week in May because the first ones arrived and were not of good quality. I am just now starting to get ripe ones. The first 5 or 6 were rotten on the bottom and had to be thrown away. I would not recommend this product and I will not purchase again.

Plants are thriving and doing well so far. Have them on back porch right outside kitchen door so easy to water and hopefully pick tomatoes.

          Watering is a problem

The problem with this product is watering. If you have it hanging somewhere that is not within easy reach of a hose it is very awkward to water it, since it will be at least 6 feet in the air and you have to angle the water into the container at the top. Also, I found that the water container is quite inefficient in getting water to the growing medium which dries out easily. And the water container itself is open at the top, so the water evaporates quickly.
All in all an interesting idea that doesn't quite work.

I've not had very good luck with this product. This is my second year using it for tomatos. Last year I got 2 tomatos, this year only 1.

Won't need them till next year but they look plenty large enough and sturdy. Should help me grow some tomatos and peppers in areas where the critters can't get to them!

Seem to be much better than the ones in the store "as seen on TV". We have these hanging off the pergola on our deck. They look nice and don't detract from the view of the rest of the yard. The bags are only good for a couple of years (if that). It would be nice to be able to just replace the bag part. I don't recommend growing really large tomatoes (i.e. beefsteak) because the volume of soil doesn't really support enough nutrients to get a big tomato out of it and they tend to spoil if left too long on the vine (hoping they will get bigger). But the tomatoes are really delicious and so convenient!! No weeding or mulching. The little birds do like the reservoir in the top for bathing but that doesn't seem to hurt anything!

Tomatoes never did grow well for me upside down over two growing seasons. This year I put the water res. in the bottom and filled with light soil. Cucumbers are doing very well this way and I'll use again for trailing vegetables. Like any hanging basket, soil moisture must be monitored.

I kept the reservoir filled as needed, especially in this hot weather. I checked the dampness of the soil dailey to make sure that it was moist but not wet or drying out. I used miracle grow soil and added a diluted solution of tomato fertilizer to the reservoir twice over a three week period. It was wicking well and not to damp. these were well developed plants. they are almost completely dead. Needless to say, I am not a happy camper! My neighber bought the inexpencive variety @ his is doing well!
