I used these corners to build a 4'x8' box base to overwinter outdoor bonsai plants. I used 2x8 rough cedar (these boards measure 1.5 x 7.25") and the fit was perfect. I had no problems with the screws that came with the corners. I like the heavy weight, these are not flimsy and they made putting the box together, in a nice rectangle with perfect corners, easier. And the final product looks good--very professional look with these corners. I built an extension for the top so the back height is 29". Then built a 2x2 frame and installed twin wall polycarbonate on the top. This is in the shade so the bonsai do not get too warm during the winter but this would make an awesome cold frame for growing vegetables if it had sun exposure. I looked all over for a cold frame like this. Couldn't find it so I built it.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

very nice corner brackets
from Lexington, KY
These arrived quickly and have a slot width of 1.5 in, which is perfect for finished 2" stock, but too narrow for rough-cut lumber, about 1.75 in. The pre-drilled holes were too small for the provided screws, but easily drilled out with standard high-speed steel drill bit, or cobalt steel bit. Assembly very easy, looks great. 15" is a little too wide for two 2" X 8" boards (which come to about 14.5". The guide for cubic feet of planting soil is accurate. It took 40 cu ft for my 4' X 8' X 15" bed. I used cedar to avoid rot and chemicals, and it looks great!
Raised bed corners are wonderful!
This was my first raised bed experiment. I decided to try these corners because I didn't want to have to re-do them ever! I was amazed at how easy they were to use. I am not much of a carpenter, but the boards slipped right in and it was so easy for the corners to instantly be square! I used a hand circular saw with sawhorses. I used 2 x 8 redwood. Also an electric drill with a Philip's end on it. I plan on making lots more! This one has my rhubarb and asparagus in it. Next I am making one 23" tall so I don't have to bend over to pick strawberries! Love these corners!
