happy worms great compost
turned my big pile of scraps into beautiful black compost ready to be used in the garden!

The worms arrived packaged incredibly well in a paper pulp mixture (by the way, these worms love pulped newspaper). There's quite a few of them in the 2-pound batch -- perfect for my worm bin. My biggest complaint is that it took about a month and a half for them to be shipped, so if you're in a rush to start vermicomposting, be forewarned that may happen.
great job guys!!

In addition to the large scale, three bin composting I do, these little guys recycle and repurpose providing fine, rich castings. This lets me further reuse kitchen waste items allowing me to maintain my organic vegetable garden. Thanks little guys, I really appreciate the hard work you do for me!
Hard Working Worms!

About Me Getting Started
My worms arrived a little late because of cold weather causing a late harvest. But when I introduced them to their Worm Factory, they were eager to get to work and haven't stopped since! They have already almost filled up the first tray in a little over a month. This is a fun project and a great learning opportunity for my little grandson.

Red Wiggler Worms
from Kerrville, TX
Probably should have not placed in open garden. Even with feeding and protecting the worms, they all died after 2 weeks. Not sure what caused them to disappear. Just died, birds got them or they didn't like the kitchen scraps I fed them.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Merchant response: Red Wiggler worms are meant for worm factories or composting. They are not really meant to be used in your garden.
Worth the Wait

About Me Master Gardener
I ordered these worms early and expected a delay, but shipping took far longer than expected. Even when I was eventually told the worms were not available yet, they still showed in stock on the website. By the time they arrived, I could have obtained them elsewhere. That said, the worms arrived in good condition and when added to the worm bin went right to work. They've adapted well: there is an abundance of wiggling worms when I turn the coir bedding in the bin to add more veggie scraps. I highly recommend worm composting. It's a great way to dispose of kitchen scraps when the outdoor compost pile may not be accessible in winter and provides an easy home made organic fertilizer for potted plants.

The worms weren't able to be harvested to ship until almost 2 months later than the initial intended date. It was very hard to wait, however, it's no fault of the seller that the cold weather lasted later into the year.I missed the calls from the seller so the worms arrived and sat on the doorstep a while without me knowing it, but that was my own fault. Regardless, the worms were quite lively and ready to work on composting!I later realized a voice mail had been sent by the seller, who was very kind and apologized for the wait. I had also, previously contacted the website through e-mail (for an earlier update) and received a timely and very polite response.Despite the unexpected wait time, and myself managing to miss every call. lol! ...I am VERY happy and satisfied with my order of red worms! The quick response of customer service and the seller was well appreciated and shows the respect and concern they have for their customer's satisfaction.I would DEFINITELY recommend buying from Gardener's Supply! Couldn't be happier!

So far so good!
from Alexandria, VA
The only down side was that the worms arrived before the worm bin did, but with some help from someone from customer service, we kept the worms happy and about a month into it, they seem to be doing great! We love our worms!

Would buy these worms again
from brooklyn, ny
The item was in stock, but didn't ship immediately. When I inquired, customer service told me that the seller likes to send them when the worms are ready or whatever reason. I wasn't thrilled, but fine. When I did finally receive the worms, I was very happy with them - there was a lot, 2 lbs, and they were healthy and wriggly and great. They've taken to the worm composter much much much better than the first batch of worms that I purchased from another site. So yeah, if I need worms again, this is where I'm going.
