Reduce watering worries and keep plants healthy in the self-watering Lechuza® Nido Cottage Wicker Hanging Basket. A removable liner makes planting and maintenance quick and tidy. The strong, stainless steel hanger holds the basket securely in place. The water-tight basket also doubles as a tabletop planter.
This all-in-one planter includes a specially formulated granular material, called Lechuza PON, that's made from nutrient-enriched pumice, zeolites and lava. The clean, attractive material wicks water up from the built-in reservoir, aerates the roots and provides your plant with nutrition. A layer of Lechuza PON spread over the reservoir wicks water to the potting mix around your plant’s roots.
The water reservoir releases moisture as your plants need it and lets you water less often. A built-in water-level indicator tells you when it’s time to add more water. The stylish outer pot is watertight so you can place it directly on furniture without worrying about leaks. Inside, a matching liner easily lifts out, making it easy to change plants, repot, trim roots and rinse leaves. For outdoor use, there's a removable drainage plug on the bottom of the pot. From the makers of classic Playmobile® toys, award-winning Lechuza planters are crafted in Germany from durable, shatterproof, UV-safe plastic.
All-in-one planter includes the container, liner, water level indicator, stainless steel hanging assembly and Lechuza PON.

Great Self Watering Hanging Basket
from Willingboro, NJ
This is a great hanging basket. Not only is the wicker design, quite attractive, once you've planted it, and water from the top for a few weeks, until the newly installed plant starts to root, this planter will go for at least 12 weeks, without having to water it. I'm normally big on outside plants and gardening, but since my purchase of this basket, I've become eager, and more interested in maintaining the houseplants, that I do have. I have also purchased a smaller version of this basket, and they are also great. Both types of self watering hanging baskets, can also be used outdoors, as well.

I've only been using a month but so far, so good! It's big, bigger than I suspected & bigger than the white/blue/lavender ones. When all the water is in, it's heavy so make sure your hooks are sturdy & I got the pulleys, they're fantastic!
I am considering purchasing 2 more
This product is high quality. Perfect for the hanging plants saving me time each morning and ensuring they are watered during high heat in the South. Highly recommend!
Beautiful and useful

I've had many self watering hanging baskets but none as lovely as this. I can't wait to fill it in the spring.
Excellent appearance and quality hanging basket
from Waxhaw, NC
2 baskets used on my front porch - each centered between pillars and hanging above wrought iron planters. Well made baskets that seem like they will last for a very long time.
These are beautiful!
from Elizabeth, WV
These are the prettiest hanging planters I have ever seen. I ordered 2 last year to try them out. I ordered 2 more for this year because I love them. I only have to water my ferns every couple of days as opposed to daily before. I used to soak them in a tub of water in order for them to have enough water. Last summer I had the most beautiful ferns ever. It is all because of these great hanging planters.
German made hanging baskets
Love that it is an entire system. The one downside is that you can' buy the granular mix that comes with the original set. I guess I will buy the Gardners Supply shelf watering potting soil to see how that works
from Plano, Tx
I purchased to go with my new wicker furniture, makes whole patio a class act.

Worth every penny!
By Sally and Harry
from Mountains of Washington
My flowers were in little plastic tubs on the deck, awaiting the giant box from Gardener's supply. I'd been collecting just the right varieties, in exactly the right colors. I'd gone and bit the bullet and paid quite a bit for each pot, more than I usually pay, but I was tired of my hanging pots throwing themselves off the front deck as their cheap clips snap off. Harry, our golden retriever, and I danced with anticipation around the UPS driver as he arrived. A dog biscuit for Harry, and my Gardner's Supply box for me. I open up the package and there are little bits and pieces that need to be assembled. I try to hide my disappointment, and be adult about it, go to find my reading glasses and carefully follow the diagramed instructions, taking out the little tubes, little floats and un-taping the little red indicators that fit inside the little clear tubes. Harry has finished with his dog biscuit from the UPS man, I am still trying to assemble the first of six new baskets. I eagerly pour the magic gravel into the bottom of the inner pot, and nestle the carnival of flowers into the first of my outer pots. I discover that if you twist the inner basket just so, the fill hole can be in alignment with the support wire. (Our watering system tubes follow the wire down and fits into the fill hole, very neat and tidy.) I put the other incredibly strong looking wires into their holes and marvel at the engineering of these treasures. I notice Harry is doing the dance of triumph... the dance of triumph??? What has he triumphed over?? I find bits of plastic bag and the remains of an indicator tube in bits and pieces on the deck. I sigh. I put up the other plastic pieces out of reach and start to fill the other baskets. I turn around in time to stop Harry from swinging a plastic bag of special gravel around until it ruptures. I put up the other bags of gravel.I finally hang the baskets... so lovely! The wires are almost invisible, the espresso "wicker" is tastefully neutral, the hanging hooks swivel, making it easy to attend every side of the flower basket. It's been a few weeks now, and the flower pots are exceeding my expectation. I am budgeting now for the baskets in back... and the flower boxes... while Harry looks forward to the next visit from the UPS man, and his bottomless box of dog biscuits.
