You may need only one composter most of the year, but where can you put that mountain of leaves every fall? This three-bin wire composter holds 48 cubic feet of leaves, grass clippings and garden scraps, without the investment of an enclosed composter. The three bins can also be used to separate compost: one to collect yard and kitchen waste, one for cooking compost, and one for finished compost.

The bins are good but you need your own zip ties
from Eastsound, WA
The bins are good but you need your own zip ties. The connectors that come with it did not work on the interior sections but this was easy to remedy with zip ties.

ease of fasteners
from longview WA
It was very dificult to use the fasteners for the two middle sheets in the 3 package. Lot easier to buy three separate units

Looks good in the pictures, but ...
The theory behind these bins is good - they are sturdy and well made, and so far mine look great after two years of hard use. The practice is where these bins break down - the included clips are extremely difficult to use. Hard to get on, almost impossible to get off, and I never could figure out how to clip things together for a sturdy 3-bin setup. Ended up using coated gardening wire, which is also necessary if you want to take the front panel off to turn the bin, because they're too high to easily reach in and do it that way.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Great product for all my excess compostable material.
from Pittsfield, Me
We purchased this to supplement our compost twin, which cannot keep up with weekly mowing. I owed one of these a number of years ago and decided it was well worth purchasing another. This was one was easier to put together and seems to bee working great.
About Me Getting Started
This system is a good size for our needs. The plastic clips work well for creating a single bin - but do not work well for connecting the three bins together. I substituted plastic zip ties for that purpose.

Tough to snap together
from La crosse, WI
I've been composting in a pile for a couple years, but the heap looked unsightly, made it difficult to separate batches in different stages of composting and was prone to spreading out. This bin was relatively easy to put together, keeps my batches in order and allows me to have multiple batches in different stages.
Easy to assemble and easy to use

We like this composter, though we would like a better way to assemble it. The clips are difficult to get on the second screen. Once the clips are on, it's easy peasy.

Easy to set up, easy to use
from Clemmons, NC
Does not compost as quickly as I like... but I am also not mixing brown with green religiously. Have two sets, one for fall leaves and one for kitchen scraps and random yard cleanup. The upside is we compost most everything from kitchen so it does not go down disposal. Downside is actively monitoring and mixing so it can be used on garden. Hickory and oak nuts don't compost well....they seem to last for years.
