Bought one in 2014, still beautiful (but I do use teak oil every few months. Bought another one after another bathroom remodel just as a stool right outside of bathtub. Again beautifully constructed and comfortable to sit on!

Don't Be Intimated By Sloping Floors

I can be rather cynical about getting my money's worth and unappreciative of items that fail to last a lifetime. But boy, it's certainly not a problem with this teak corner stool. The stool is beautifully crafted and solidly constructed. And its unique sculpted design is comfortable and aesthetically pleasing and the variation of wood colors adds to the interest. By golly, it seems I have spent my money wisely. The stool is designed in such a way to be fitted with a variety of leg leveling systems to accommodate the various slopes of most any shower floor. In my case, I have a six-sided walk-in shower with the drain near one side. I chose to use one 1" round heavy-duty, anti-skid chair pad purchased from the local hardware store for less than $3. I screwed the disk to the the bottom of the REAR corner leg so that it tilts the chair slightly forward for comfort and stability. In doing so, the slight tilt forward prevents any pooling of water on the seat. I also oiled the entire chair like I have done with other indoor teak. You'll find plenty of opinions on whether oiling the wood before using is necessary or advised. Because I prefer the look of warm teak rather than weathered gray, I use Teak Oil to enhance the color of the wood and to protect it from hard water. Teak Oil can be purchased at most local hardware stores for under $10. I'm surprised at how quickly the beads of shower water disappear after bathing. This chair is a definite keeper!

My corner stool, while lovely and solid, started to mildew after a year. As you can see from my attached photo, the mildew is on top along 11 slats, where there is a low dip in the bench. Thus, water naturally settles there and this portion stays wet longer. I would NOT recommend this bench for any application where it is exposed to water daily. It simply did not live up to the claims, such as "leave it right in the shower."
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

It adds a sense of movement with its curves. A beautiful piece of art to highlight a simple bathroom. Very solid.

Using this in a shower. Works well and looks good. Only issue is that since it has 4 legs and shower floors slope, it tends to wobble - 3 legs wouldn't wobble but it would not be as sturdy as this piece. If they made the front center leg with an adjustable piece on the bottom that would take care of the issue. Am planning on going out and purchasing a small rubber 'button' to go under that leg to stabilize it. Otherwise it is great!

Lovely looking, but...
About Me Budget Shopper
Bought this gorgeous piece a year and a half ago for a walk-in shower, but as other reviewers have noted, a slighly sloped floor makes this bench unstable. Finish has held up, but a few pieces on the bench have slipped, so it is clearly not well reinforced. Unfortunately, the design in the bench seat goes from wide to narrow openings (like a piece of pie). Woe unto those who slide around when shaving legs or scrubbing feet! The bench grabs and pinches whatever parts are sitting on it (you get the idea), which is painful. Now this expensive bench is decorating my garden where it can be enjoyed WITH PANTS ON!

I bought this bench for the shower. I shopped several retailers and chose this one because of the design, the price, and the great reviews. I was not disappointed. I have treated it with teak oil and it is beautiful. The only thing I would suggest is that leveling feet be added. My shower slopes and this makes the bench a bit wobbly. I will be adding the leveling feet myself. I'm certain I will have this bench for a lifetime. Thank you.

The teak stool looks great, really well made, sturdy, and just the right height. Corner style fits nicely and does not take up a lot of space.
This teak us tops!
