Camille's Greenhouse Must
By Camille the Gardener

Comments about : 36" Single T5 Fixture:
I love the T5 light fixtures! They give my greenhouse the perfect light intensity to make my plants grow big and strong. I only wish that the nano reflectors came with them in the set. I would recommend the lights to anyone who is a hobby gardener or owns a bedding plants business like me!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Powerful and economical
By Thee Avant Garden
This is a good way to start seeds without buying an expensive rack! Simply build your own. Use these for starting seeds and get a head start on your garden!
Excellent for an economical DIY seed starting setup
T5s are excellent and bright for starting vegetable seeds indoors for healthy transplants when the garden is finally warm enough to transplant out. I found this to be an excellent and economical alternative to purchasing a premade setup which are quite pricey. I can fit 2-3 trays per 2 lights. These can be daisy-chained together. Great product and fair price!

I've never used a grow light to start seeds and the results were usually pretty poor. These lights are pretty light so it made mounting it under my cabinets with sticky hooks and string for adjusting pretty easy. I used those flats that have plastic covers and the lights must have generated some heat (about 3-4" above the trays) because the tomatoes started about 6 days faster then the ones just in peat pots left in the window sill. The plants are doing really well because we don't have many sunny days where I live. There is quite a difference using a grow light and I might try using it on my house plants afterwards.

Great Value - Very Bright!
from Georgia, VT
I bought this light to use for seed starting indoors. I chose it based on cost, and the ability to use it in a DIY setup, as opposed to buying a whole system. Compared to other grow lights, this is very inexpensive. It is definitely bright! It is still early in the season, so we only have onion seedlings so far, but they seem to be enjoying the light and are turning very green.
One light fixture defective
from Blue Ridge, GA
Have used one for a couple of years on a small baker's rack; has worked well but not enough light. Bought 3 more, one to go with existing one & two for another shelf. One was defective, had to return--not easy or cheap to return with the shape & fact that it's breakable. Will see how exchange process works out. They are easy to hang with chains or wire (not included).
My herb starts are so happy! I hung the lights on a section of a shelf and started all sorts-- chamomille, echinacea, basil, thyme... Even the tomatoes are happy-- not really that leggy, nice green... I wonder if there's anything to be said about Seasonal Affective Disorder here?
Great seedling starter

Great to start seedlings but it is insufficient to use beyond the transplant stage.
These are great lights
By Na Coille

These lights are great! I have some heavy duty plastic storage shelves that are only 38" wide, so standard light banks don't fit. These lights were the perfect solution, and were so simple to install. I just used the enclosed hangers and hung them from each shelf with a wire shower curtain hook. Only took 15 minutes to hang and plug in 6 shelves of lighting. All 18 trays of seedlings are thriving!
just what I needed
This was just what I needed as I can attach it to an existing baker's rack where I have plants and seedlings. I use picture wire to suspend it & I can start it low & raise the height as they grow. Next winter I'll use it over my indoor herbs to supplement the light from the windows.
