Long-lasting LED tubes won’t shatter like glass bulbs and they're mercury-free so, unlike fluorescent bulbs, there's no need for special disposal.

love the lights and the shelf. I will definitely get another as soon as I figure out where to put it. The shelf is so nice looking and well made it would look nice in many rooms. The shelf takes some time to put together but it was easy and fun to do. My seedlings are as happy as I am with this product.
Good starter garden
My uncle and I got this kit for my mom, so she could grow greens and herbs over the winter and get some of her summer plantings started indoors. This particular kit was one of those recommended by a master gardener friend. You could put together your own more cheaply, but we liked the idea of a single-integrated solution. If you're thinking about doing it on your own, the components can still get pricy. Assembly was pretty straightforward--although for us it was a two-person job. It's a good size for her first garden. Some additional things to think about: thermometer to monitor the temp; plastic sheeting to tent it to hold heat and moisture in; nearby water source, so you're not lugging buckets through your house. We haven't yet planted anything, so stay tuned for more!
Does the job. . .
I sort of wish I bought the 3 tier now but spring should be here soon. This version is nice and compact for the hobbyist. Assembly wasn't bad, I did it on my own but I needed the hubby's help with one hole that was slightly off. Nothing some banging couldn't take care of. Only issue is when the lights are placed very close to the plants when young, the plants on the very edge aren't actually under the lights. You'll either have to rotate your plants so they don't stretch or raise the lights up a bit so they fan out onto all the plants. The trays are nice and sturdy and I can see this lasting for quite some time. Thanks
This 2 tier stand will work great for early starting of plants.

It's nice and sturdy. Was easy to assemble. Just the right size- not too big or too twee. Lights adjust easily and overall a good buy..

I am using it to start plants and also to grow small plants that were doing poorly near a window. Once I finally got it assembled, it is working well. The directions could be a little clearer. It did not help that one part (S3T) was defective and the side pieces could not be connected to it. The company sent a replacement part. Also, it is very difficult to get the bolt to go through the big center hole in part S3T and out the smaller hole so it can be screwed into part S2. Getting it back out so I could try again was a hassle.
