With a powder-coated steel frame and reinforced mesh bottom, this rugged sifter quickly separates uncomposted material from finished "black gold". It's even tough enough to screen sticks and stones out of garden soil.

Comments about : Steel Compost Sieve:
I bought this to replace a sieve I had made with 2x4's and hardware cloth. It is well made and much easier to use.

We recently moved. Our new yard has a lot of small rocks & gravel mixed in the soil, in several areas I would like to have as flowerbeds. This 14" diameter sieve is small enough that I can handle it easily, even when filled with the rocks & soil. The 1/4" holes in the metal grid seem to be about the right size for this project, straining out the larger bits & some weed roots, too.
Great sturdy product.

About Me Master Gardener
We are big composters and we use this sifter to separate compost from debris.
About Me Avid Gardener
Very solid, not flimsy at all.
My compost tends to have a lot of chunks that take a while, and this helps me obtain usable material by separating it from the slower-to-decompose items.

if you want finer compost to add to flower beds or pots, use this sieve
Easy to handle

This quarter inch mesh is good if the compost is dry. The small 1/4 inch mesh will clog if the compost is wet. However, this is available in a larger mesh size.
very sturdy constuction. it is a nice size to handle a decent amount of compost without getting too heavy. a great purchase!
