This convenient cold frame provides a sheltered place to harden off seedlings, and protects plants from unpredictable spring weather for faster growth and an earlier harvest. The cover protects plants from harsh wind and chilly temperatures, as well as insects and other pests. It also prevents indoor-grown seedlings from getting sunburned as they acclimate to the outdoors. Adjustable screened vents promote air circulation and allow excess heat to escape on sunny days. Also handy for extending the growing season later into fall. 4' square x 27-1/2" high; sized so it can also be used over a 4' raised bed.

I use this mainly to put over my raised bed at night to protect from varmints getting into vegis. Planning to use it more, next spring to get an early start on garden. Very sturdy material & frame. Very pleased with it.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Cold Frame Purchase Is Hot Stuff To Aid and Protect Plant St
from Fargo, ND
Worked like a charm. Protected seedlings from our shifting weather - winds, rains, and cold temps typically characterize ND springs.
Sorry I didn't order more ...

I got this last year and let it languish in the basement until now.I regret that, because this cold-frame works perfectly for my 4'x 4' raised beds, of which I have four. I have only one of these cold-frames, though and they're apparently no longer available.Bummer.Anyhow, I'm using it this year to harden off my tomatoes and peppers. It works pretty well for that.

Keeps heat in and the zipper lets it out when needed.like a little green house.protects from storms animals.can keep good ladybugs in.ants are still able to get in but it does everything else! Great .for baby plants and tender greens.

Cold Frame doubts
from Lake City, Colorado
I have raised beds that this product fits perfectly. The separate zippered ends allow easy access and the separate netting zipper provides flexibility for temperature control. I had reservations about spending that much money; now, I plan to purchase either 1 or 3 more for next season.

Jump Start the Garden
from Burlington, VT
This cold frame is one of many products I test here at Gardener's Supply. I tested the 4x4 Cold Frame last year, starting in late April. I planted seeds in a 4x4 raised bed and secured the cold frame to the top. From the photo you can see that there was still snow on the ground. By mid-June, the cold frame was off and the bed was bursting with life. I love all the different textures and shades of green in such a compact space.I planted many early season crops, including Red Cardinal spinach, Wildfire lettuce mix, red Russian kale, Swiss chard and bok choy. It's amazing to me that all of this life/sustenance/nutrition thrives in 16 square feet — and it was planted while there was still snow on the ground.
