As Expected

Comments about : Stainless Steel Compost Crock:

Good size, lightweight, a bit "tinny" Was hoping for a more "substantial feel" for stainless. So far so good, concerned about the rusting notes from others as I keep a little water with a drop of dishsoap in the bottom. Keeping hopes up.

The best compost food waste pail

Comments about : Stainless Steel Compost Crock:

I've used the same one for five years and it's superb. It's dishwasher safe, has a solid handle, looks good, uses an odor filter and doesn't crack like plastic, ceramic or pottery.

Comments about : Stainless Steel Compost Crock:

Like another reviewer, I bought Gardener's Rustic Compost Crock but decided to use it for flowers rather than try to cope with the narrow opening and issues with cleaning it. Now I have two steel crocks so I can separate outdoors and vermiculture scraps; they use the same filters. Easy to use and diswasher friendly. Definitely your best choice for serious composting.

I have owned 2 ceramic compost crocks and have ended up breaking them. This one is great because it won't break! It also holds more so there are less trips outside to the compost bins!

Comments about : Stainless Steel Compost Crock:

I bought two counter composters, one for table scraps and one for vegetable waste. I love them. However, I think I have ruined one, because I thought the metal ring under the lid came off in order to change the charcoal filters. I never saw any information on how to get the filters out, so now I have a broken lid. Are there instructions on how to get to the filters, and any ideas how to repair the ring I pulled loose?

With a small footprint on the counter, space for a week's compost with no odor or fruit flies around, this Crock is a joy to use. The bail handle makes it easy to carry and it cleans up in the dishwasher to start the next week's collection. Love it!

Comments about : Stainless Steel Compost Crock:

I purchased this compost pail after a less expensive one, purchased at a well known home store, rusted through after only about 18 mo of use. Counting on Gardener's Supply Stainless Steel to be just that and not simply appear to be stainless.

Comments about : Stainless Steel Compost Crock:

Nice enough to keep on countertop. Holds a nice amount of scraps but not too heavy to carry out to out compost pile.
