Now you can use the power of the sun to pump water out of your rain barrel! The RainPerfect™ Solar-Powered Rain Barrel Pump provides a consistent water pressure of 13 pounds per square inch, which is perfect for most drip irrigation systems, low-pressure sprinklers and soaker hoses. It's also plenty of pressure for watering plants in the yard and garden. The control panel mounts on top of most rain barrels; the solar collector is attached to the panel with a 15' cable so you can install it in full sun. Pumps up to 100 gallons on a single charge. Attaches to any standard garden hose, not included.

Updating my review
Comments about Solar Rain Barrel Pump:
Wanted to update my review. I was able to secure a new battery for the pump at Bateries+ (custom build - cost about $50). So I am happily able to use my pump again. Just wish the battery would last a bit longer. I plan to disconnect it during the winter months in hopes it will last longer this time.I appreciate Gardener's Supplies contacting me and letting me know that the battery could be replaced.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Finally makes using my rain barrel easy to use. No hauling water to plants, just use my hose to water. Love it. So easy, got another rain barrel and ordered another rain barrel pump.
Worked great, for a time...

This product worked great for the first season after purchase. The second year - the battery will not charge. If someone finds a place to get a replacement battery, I'd love to know.

Great idea, very poor product
By orchid nut

I was looking for a convenient way to transfer water from my outdoor rain barrel to my indoor rain barrel, which I use for watering my orchid collection. This solar pump looked like an ideal solution. I didn't need super water pressure, just steady pressure to pump 30 to 40 gallons at a time. The pump, when it runs, works exactly as I need it. WHEN IT RUNS. I have never gotten a green light when I checked the charge status. The best I've ever gotten was yellow, and at that level I get maybe 15 minutes of pumping then it craps out.I don't know whether it is the solar panel or the battery, but if after a week in full sun I cannot get a full charge (forget fully charging in 8 hrs) then there is a serious design flaw somewhere. Frankly, with all the negative reviews on performance I'm surprised that Gardeners Supply continues to sell the product.

Some other reviewers say that the pump doesn't stay on, but I haven't found that to be the case at all. As long as there's a full charge, it runs well. I'm thrilled that I can finally use the water from my 2 rain barrels to water the garden easily.

Do not waste your money on this pump. It charges up fine to when it indicates it is fully charged. But then it only runs for one to two minutes and then dies on you. It is not good enough to pump any significant amount of water.

Do not waste your money
Like any battery, they need replaced. Searched high and low, even asked customer service, you will not be able to find them anywhere. So in the end it is only good for a year at most.

solar rain barrel pump
from reading pa
I don't know if a could of been doing anything wrong. Arrows matched, connections were tight and I had 3 days of total sun. It never charged.
Good product, could be better.
from La Salle, IL
I have a 25' garden hose with adjustable nozzle on the end. Two barrels are feeding the pump and it does a good job watering the plants. My only complaint is connecting the control box to the top of the rain barrel. Very awkward.
Work very well
