Not a quality product
I suppose for the money I got what I expected. However, when it was packaged for delivery someone had pushed down on the packing material and bent it in 2 places. As always though, Gardener Supply credited me for sending it back. I am always happy with the way they take care of a problem and that is why I never go wrong at least trying a product.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Because of all the negative reviews, I almost didn't buy this, but decided to give it a try. It is the middle of winter and the ground is frozen, so I haven't had a chance to try it. I am going to wrap a heavy rubberband around the tube to keep it from falling thru the holder, even tho it seems like it would be ok w/o it.

I like the copper snail, but the ring that holds the rain gauge is slightly bent towards the post and the rain gauge tilts when the post is straight. I can't seem to make any adjustments that will correct the problem- disappointing for the price.
attractive but not accurate

The calibrations on this rain gauge are not accurate. The snail is cute and it makes a nice piece of garden art.

A Functional and Fun Purchase
By Susan, the avid outdoor gardener

Now I am able to measure rainfall easily and in close proximity of my outside path. It looks so cute in the front flower bed! The only recommendation would be for slightly longer ground pins as it occasionally requires repositioning to center upright.
Easy to read and unusual
Easy to use, good size container and I LOVE that I can buy replacement containers (my husband has a way of breaking them)
This is not a good item at all.
from Meeker, Co
The first time I received this item it was broken in 3 places. I called and the representative was very nice and said it would be replaced. I told her that the vile that held the water was way to small for the ring and it fell through. I was told they would make sure the replacement was ok. It wasn't and the ring holder was even bigger, not to mention that this item is poorly made. I'm not happy with it and it was suppose to be a gift. I have never had this trouble with any other item I have received either as a gift or purchased myself. This item just does not have it.

Cutest way to measure rain!
By Laura Lee
from Albuquerque, NM
I love the attractive design of this rain gauge, which should fit in well in any garden. The only problem is, I had to glue down the glass rain measurer to avoid it breaking by falling out when the wind blows. I live near a canyon, but for most people in less windy areas, everything should work fine.
I would not recommend!

We like to measure rainfall amounts but this one definitely would not last long or measure accurately!
