Control slugs without chemicals. These beneficial nematodes are tiny, soil-dwelling predators that target slugs, killing them within 48 hours. One application is effective all summer. Unlike chemical controls, they won't harm earthworms or most beneficial insects, and they are safe to use around children and pets.

Comments about Slug Guard:
Tested front yard with, backyard without one year. Had slugs in backyard, next year treated both and had no slug damage. Product works amazingly well. Soil must be kept moist and watered in well.

About Me Avid Gardener
I used this product a couple springs ago and it worked very well. (See my post on the site.) This time around, it's hard to say. In the areas I did not apply it, the plants are overrun with slugs. In the sections where the product was applied - applied 2 and 3 times - the results are mixed. Some spots have very few slugs and then a plant immediately adjacent will be covered with them. ?? I do have a request or two: the instructions need to be clearer. They suggest mixing the envelope of nematodes in a container of water. How big a container? Should you be able to see insects swimming about? Do you fill the applicator jar with this mixture? Or is filling half the jar enough? How do you know when to add more from the base mixture in the container? Maybe an instructional video should be made. Another idea: you have a fantastic service department, but a few people should be designated slug eradication experts and patched through to the callers needing advice.

About Me Getting Started
This is a great product. I have been able to see my first lily open this season and not be eaten by slugs. I have seen maybe one or two slugs in my garden, but I would normally see dozens each morning which would totally destroy my flowers. My only problem is that there is no measurement as to how to spread the product. I put it in a watering can and distributed it that way. I'm sure it could have gone further with better instructions, but it is still doing it's job.

Boy did I have a slug issue with all the wet weather in April and May. I purchased this with a prayer because nothing I was using was working. I can say within a weeks time, my newly place flowers were no longer nibbled on. No slim lines of evidence either. I will be purchasing this again.
This stuff works!

We have a lot of hostas that slugs love. Using this product at the beginning of the season has eliminated the need for other slug control measures. It really works! Our professional landscaper was amazed too.

slugs be gone!
from Central Lake, MI
I have tried everything from beer to expensive copper strips to eliminate slugs from my gardens. I have almost 300 hostas that have been slug salad for years. Last year I tried Gardener's nematode product in early spring BEFORE plants appeared. Almost no slug damage the entire summer. I repeated again this spring BEFORE plants appeared and not a single bite, even impatiens and begonias are still standing. Prior to nematode use plants were devoured nightly. I am thrilled. The only negative is in the iinstructions, lacking detail. I use 1 sponge of nematodes per 2 gal of water in sprayer, using a total of 2 Sponges/4 gal water. Water ground well before and after applying. A rainy day is perfect if you don't mind wearing a raincoat.
Didn't work for us at all
By Disappointed gardener

After reading positive reviews we decided to try the slug guard. I agree with one of the reviewers saying that there were no instructions, but I found PDF instructions under Grub guard, and we followed them assuming that they should be similar. I see no results at all: the slugs are eating vegetables and flowers as much as they did last summer. Very disappointed.
warning, needs refrigeration
This arrived when we were out of town. It needs refrigeration if not used immediately, so I have probably wasted my money. I did apply it, but time will tell if it has any effect on slugs

Last year I had many slugs. Nothing would get rid of them. This year after using slug guard, I have'nt seen a single slug or snail eating in the garden
