Silicone spatula has an integrated digital thermometer that measures the temperature of what you're stirring. Proper temperature is a must when you're making jams, chocolate, sauces and syrups, and this spatula makes it easy to monitor. Thermometer measures temperatures from 32 degrees F. to 320 degrees F.

Works well but very difficult to turn on

Comments about : Jam Spatula with Digital Thermometer:
Use it to make jam and fudge. Once it is on it works great but the small on/off button is nearly impossible to use. Have to push very hard at the correct angle to get it on. That alone can take 5 minutes. This has gotten worse with use.

Seems to accurately tell the temp. Makes it easy to cook jelly and even used it to get the temp of the water when canning
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
maybe just a lemon

Loved the idea of this thermometer. It had a nice wider range of temps that it can detect and should be switchable between Celsius and Fahrenheit. Unfortunately the one I ordered would not convert to Fahrenheit. Good concept just not well executed.

Fantastic tool for candy-making

About Me Avid Cook
I got two--one to give and one for me. I used mine for tempering chocolate and used my normal thermometer with it just to be sure. It is accurate. Spatula is sturdy and easily stirs the chocolate when still not fully melted. This is so much better than using both a spatula and thermometer for making candy.Three notes. One, the bottom end of the thermometer doesn't extend all the way to the bottom of the spatula, so you need to make sure you have enough (maybe half an inch) of whatever in the pan/pot for the temperature to register..Two, you need to remove the plastic tab at the top that keeps the battery from making contact with the thermometer. On my gifting one, I discovered after I'd used mine, the tab is torn off at the edge. There's barely enough to use tweezers to pull it off. If not told about this, the recipient likely would not know. I mention this because one reviewer on another site said the thermometer didn't work at all. I suspect the person didn't know to remove the tab.Three, I didn't see anything about how to wash. I'm assuming the thermometer (which can be pulled completely out of the spatula) should not be immersed in water, but the spatula likely can be washed in the DW.

This gadget makes candy-making so much easier! Nicer than clipping the candy thermometer to the saucepan.
