Great Boxes!

By kaypassa

Comments about : Self-Watering Patio Planter, Terra Cotta:

I have had these boxes with great success for about 15 years. They are just wonderful. I like that I don't have to dig up ground to have beautiful plants and flowers. They do not deteriorate in the sunshine --so far!--and they have been impervious to freezing and thawing.
The only downside is that I wish I had the ones with wheels that came out after I bought mine.

Comments about : Self-Watering Patio Planter, Terra Cotta:

I bought two last year for my herb garden and just bought two more for a vegetable garden this year. These planters are nearly indestructible and I really like the self-watering aspect.

Initially used them for tomatoes and had a really good harvest - self watering feature is really key in the mountains of Arizona. Will be ordering more for other plants.

Comments about : Self-Watering Patio Planter, Terra Cotta:

I started with several of these planters for tomatoes with the tomato cages then I bought extra for other vegetables. These are wonderful planters. They take the guess work out of how often to water. You just keep the bottom water chamber filled and the plants consume when and how much they need. The clear plastic cover for the water chamber has been replaced once over the years of use. I keep these on my balcony over the winter but I should cover the clear plastic cover from the sun to avoid deterioration. Not a big problem since it is an easy fix.

Comments about : Self-Watering Patio Planter, Terra Cotta:

I like the size it is not too large and it's not too small. It will hold several vegetables. I like the fact I can have on the deck so the forest animals can't get to it and eat my food I'm growing. I think it should come with wheels as it is pretty heavy once filled with soil and plants. You aren't going to move it once filled. I would like to be able to move to be able to keep in the sunlight as the sunlight moves around the deck. Easy to assemble and easy to replace the water. It does drink the water so check it every couple of days. I gave it 4 stars because it didn't come with wheels.
