Grow your own salad greens and herbs right on your deck or patio in this compact salad garden planter. With a footprint of less than 6-1/2 square feet, it’s ideal for condos and townhouses with limited space for gardening. The 4-1/2" deep planting box is just right for shallow-rooted crops like greens and herbs. Made from rot-resistant cedar and plywood.

Not worth the price
By Row house gardener

The glue and small nails were not designed to hold the weight of the dirt. I ended up buying heavy duty galvanized screws to reinforce all the corners and legs at two inch intervals. The container would have never held up as it was designed. I could have bought the wood myself and had a sturdier and cheaper elevated bed. Nice idea but not worth the price. If you do not own your own drill do not bother ordering.

This lettuce bar is shipped with the legs separate from the base. However, the legs were not nailed together as well as it should have been so when you screw that into the base, the legs end up lop-sided. It looks like a Charlie Brown creation. For the amount paid, I expected more. The wood which sits inside the base was bowed and there is not enough drainage to actually grow lettuce, we had to add more ourselves. I recommend you build one yourself so it would be much cheaper with better quality.

Garden salad bar
By Wannabe gardener
from Roanoke, Va
My children purchased this for my mother's day gift (upon my request). I am able to place it right beside the sliding glass door of my kitchen.I have all my herbs in one convenient place & can pick them without the need to stoop or bend.Would be especially great for small yards, or poor soil quality.
Salad Bar is better than expected

I planted three types of lettuce, spinach and bok choy. They are all growing great so far. After I put it together, I noticed that the legs were very rough and not sanded. I spent about 10 minutes (or less) to sand them. Otherwise, I absolutely love this-it is a wonderful addition to my gardens. I have received numerous compliments for neighbors and friends.
