Now it’s easier than ever to have lush, colorful plants along a deck railing. This cleverly designed planter securely straddles rails made from both 4" and 6" milled lumber (actual width 3-1/2" and 5-1/2") — no mounting hardware needed. Best of all, it’s self-watering; simply fill the reservoir and plants receive water as they need it.

Comments about : Self-Watering Railing Planter:
Initially ordered 2 and then 4 more. We are using them for both flowers and herbs. We have been on two week long trips and returned to find contents still happy.

Railing Planter looks great on the deck
from Burlington, VT
I just put red begonias in the planter and they brighten the deck and the yard. I added a humming bird feeder. There is very little care needed as it is self watering!
Have 8 on my deck railings. Perfect and sturdy. Expect them to last for a long time.

I bought three of these planters and have them on the railing of my back deck. They are sturdy, stable and easy to use, and look great with flowers and herbs in them. They also stop our dog jumping over the railing as they raise the height! Self-watering feature is a bonus and will be specially useful during hot summers when I I forget to water regularly.
I bought one and then ordered a second one!

Love it on my balcony railing overflowing with geraniums. Sturdy, attractive and it's ok if I forget to water it for a few days.
Loved them so much, I bought two more!

These planters are attractive, very durable, and cut WAY down on watering. There are the perfect size for our deck railing. I liked the ones that I bought last year so much that I bought 2 more this year for the front porch.
I am buying more of these!

I have about 30 feet of railing and moved my raise bed herbs into these planters. The basil, chervil, sorrel, catnip, chives, tarragon have all done much better than they did in my raised beds. Additional bonuses..the chives, chervil and catnip reseeded themselves so I have extra plants to use and share and the thyme layer rooted too. I have 5 planters and am getting a couple more for edible flowers. Because they are on the porch, it is easy to pop out and harvest herbs for a quick addition to the pot. The perennial herbs overwintered just fine despite some pretty cold temperatures (lower 20s and occasional teens last winter here in Portland, Oregon).
Easier on the Railing!

I bought these later in the summer and will plant them next year. I drilled the holes for drainage and have them stored in my shed. They fit perfectly on the porch railing and I am guessing they will be easier to water and dead-head at the railing level.

I love this so much that I now have 2 of them! I've also recommended them to friends. Great product!!
Simply the best
from Rhode Island
We purchased these as we knew we traveled and would be gone for three to five days at a time and would not be able to water our plants. They would be placed on an east and south facing deck in our RI home and receive full sun from morning to late afternoon. The water reservoirs provided the necessary water supply to the plants so when we returned home after five days of travel, and no rain at our home, we found everything blooming and new growth.
