Planting flower bulbs has never been quicker or easier than it is with the Bulb Bopper®. Attach this stainless steel bulb auger cylinder to any standard power drill and let it do the work, creating 2" diameter planting holes up to 9" deep.

Works as advertised but

Comments about : Bulb Bopper®:
Your results will depend on your soil and your drill. In most soil the Bopper works very well punching a 6" hole in seconds. But a few patches of tight, compacted soil were harder to penetrate causing my 5 Amp corded drill to strain and overheat. One nice feature: the Bopper retains the "plug" of soil removed from the hole so once the bulb is in place in the hole, you can just push the soil out of the Bopper to cover the bulb. Again, sometimes the soil "plug" is sticky and it takes a little work to push it out in pieces but not ever a big deal. Its a great tool for planting bulbs quickly most of the time but in some cases you may need to fiddle a little. High quality and significantly better than a hand bulblplanter or auger.

I thought this thing would make it possible for me to plant 100 bulbs an hour. I really did. Not in my clay soil. Perhaps it works better in sandy loam? Around here all it really does is get the hole started. I can't create a hole deeper than 2 - 3 inches. That's not deep enough. I have to dig the rest by hand. I regret this purchase. I'm planting 10 daffodils a day instead of 100 an hour.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

About Me Avid Gardener
We recently planted 425 bulbs on a hillside. The Bulb Bopper made it incredibly easy compared to digging all the holes by hand. It attaches right to your cordless drill and off you go. Very sturdy. I would never plant bulbs again without it.

It's great for bulbs, and it works with eliminating weeds as well.
Great tool to plant bulbs
Love this tool so easy to use

I loved the bulb bopper. It made short work of putting in bulbs quickly and efficiently. I like the poking stick to poke the dirt back out of the bopper, works like a charm. It saved my arms from digging so many holes. This would be great for shallow holes for seeds as well.

About Me Master Gardener
I planted bulbs in a large, new garden where the soil is not perfect. This Bulb Bopper made it a breeze! I had dry soil and wetter soil - each was equally easy to get through. Be sure your drill has a good charge and this tool will dig through all sorts of conditions. Small rocks were pushed aside and it dug through small roots easily. I have a little arthritis in my thumbs and this really saved me pain from digging!
