Watch: Pop-Up Tomato Accelerator

Mini-growhouse protects tomato transplants from cold temperatures and chilly winds, so you can set plants out in the garden weeks earlier. You’ll be amazed at how much faster plants grow — which means an earlier harvest of your first juicy fruits! Set it up in seconds: Release the toggles and it pops open, ready to place over plants. We made it extra large — 18" in diameter and 28" high — so you can leave it in place to protect plants longer. The top is made from mesh to allow warm air to escape, preventing overheating, and it also lets water in. When the weather warms up, you can unzip the top and leave it open for even better ventilation. Also good for peppers, eggplants and other heat-loving plants. Made from durable, reinforced greenhouse fabric. Flattens for easy off-season storage.

I would not get red tomatoes without these. Works great with stacking tomatoe ladders.

Comments about : Pop-Up Tomato Accelerator:

I think this item is wonderful. It not only protects young seedlings from heavy rainfall, but also established plants from very-cold temperatures either in the beginning of the growing season or toward the end of it.

Love the Pop-up Tomato Accelerator!

Comments about : Pop-Up Tomato Accelerator:

I just recently received my accelerators. I used them to cover my pepper plants for the cooler nights. Slid them right down over the cages, and my peppers were protected, and continued ripening wonderfully!

Raising Butterflies

Comments about : Pop-Up Tomato Accelerator:

I know it is designed for tomatoes, but I have found that these are great butterfly cages, too. I cover fennel that have caterpillar eggs and watch them grow into butterflies. Wasps can't disturb the cats feasting on the fennel. I have been pretty successful and have recommended these to other butterfly enthusiasts. I use the earth staples and "staple" all around the cages. When the butterflies appear, I just unzip and let them go. I have also used these to protect new plants because I have armadillos that love to uproot new plants.

Comments about : Pop-Up Tomato Accelerator:

These pop-ups are not just for tomatoes--I have used them on my asters and rudbeckia. They have saved many plants from being devoured by bunnies. The next best thing to having a pet coyote. Highly recommend.

Not useful where you have spring snows

        By Jessie

Comments about : Pop-Up Tomato Accelerator:

I was so excited about trying out one of these accelerators because they are easy to set up, much easier than the Wall-o-waters I normally use. But we had some spring snows- we get them into May sometimes- and that snow just collapsed this thing smashing my poor tomato. The second time we had snow I put a pot over the plant inside the accelerator so when it collapsed the plant didn't get smashed again. The wall of waters held up just fine in the snow.
