An integrated crop cage made from durable netting keeps marauding birds and animals away from vegetable plants and fruits crops in this 4' x 8' raised bed system. It's so much easier, more effective and more attractive than draping individual plants with netting! The long-lasting, rot-resistant cedar raised bed has rustproof, lifetime aluminum corners. The 72" high netting cage has two zippered roll-up doors for easy access to plants.

Comments about Pest-Free Garden:
Another needed improvement is to put 2 "doors" on each long side so a total of four. Once our plantings got large, it was very hard to access everything. Suggest that the net cover also be sold separately. Something shredded one section of ours' overnight--we surmise it was a raccoon. Apparently he didn't like tomatoes as he went no further. We live in rural area, so may be less of problem for those in suburban areas.

animal free garden is great

The zipper works easily. It holds its shape. I've told several friends about how much we like this kit and they plan to order kits for themselves. We all have rabbit, deer, skunk and groundhog problems and so far they haven't gotten past the netting. Yea!
great price for value
put 2 together in very little time alone

This is my first time gardening in a rural area and I needed to set up a deer-proof garden fast. We bought two units to put together to make a nice sized garden. My husband had some trouble with the hardware (screws not fitting) but it all came together. The zippers give easy access to all parts of the garden and it's completely closed from top to bottom. However, I'm not convinced the staked-down netting will keep clever groundhogs and rabbits out so I put some bricks around it for additional defense, and bought extra anchoring pins.

Great Idea but Needs Improvements
Concept is great but needs improvement. Two out of 7 wood boards had splits along edges when it arrived, so am concerned about longevity. Thicker boards would also be better than these or use composite boards. Would prefer that the sides were one 8' long board as center divider prevents using a tller inside it.Easy assembly but second person helpful for screwing together the box and adding the net cover. Cover does not reach to bottom of box, so concerned that pull on it from the earth staples will reduce its lifetime. Would be better if made long enough to bury the bottom under mulch or gravel to keep animals from burrowing under it. Then a "door" could be zippered in above the box. Great that the earth staples were included, but we'll see if they are sufficient as they leave many gaps that may allow pests to burrow under.
