The Paper Pot Maker is a simple, time-tested tool that transforms ordinary newspaper into a limitless supply of 1-3/4" diameter pots, perfect for seedstarting. Simply wrap a strip of newspaper around the solid oak press, fold it under, and twist into the base. Presto! It only takes a few seconds and you can get several pots from one newspaper page. Most of the time, you can plant pot and all right into the ground, with no repotting necessary.

It's use is not intuitive. I had to search the web site for instructions. Once I got them it was easy to use. Including the one page instruction with the item or providing a note or e-mail with a link to it would be helpful.
neat product that appeals to my need to recycle papers and not buy pots

Works Well So Far
from Orange County, CA
This little wooden tool works well and I'm sure it will hold up for a lifetime if used for it's intended purpose. I was able to easily create and fit 55 of these seed starring pots in a tray with a dome. My first seeds have germinated and now the tray is outside with these little newspaper pots. Time will tell how well these pots hold up until it is time to transplant.

Super Great Fantastic Love IT

While I received this as a gift from my wonderful husband- I would say it's a worthwhile investment. So much easier to make pots with. They turn out much better than the can/bottle method and go much quicker. I've made compostable pots out of newspaper & packing paper. Heavy duty pots out of waxed butcher paper & even "gift" pots out of pretty paper. Limited only by your imagination. A must have for the green gardener!

I make lots of paper pots for seed starting. They are surprisingly sturdy to contain growing plants until it's warm enough to transplant outside. This item is simply too expensive for what it does. You can use an empty tin can approximately 15oz size. Wrap paper around can to form the pot and after removing from around the can reinsert the can and press to mash down bottom of paper pot.

I make lots of paper papers each growing season that are used for seed starting. They are large enough to hold growing plants until it's warm enough outside to transplant. This item is way too expensive. Paper grow pots can be easily made with a tin can. Just remove the top and wrap /fold newspaper around the can. Remove pot and then reinsert can inside the paper pot to mash down the bottom.
