Drop them in your seed starter tray or cells, add water and these pellets expand in seconds to create a moist seed-starting mix that's ready for planting. The compressed pellets are made from coir (derived from coconut husks) fortified with nutrient-rich worm castings to help seedlings get off to a strong start. Easy to use, no messy soil to handle or clean up. One pellet fills a cell of our GrowEase Seed Starter or a 2" Biodegradable Pot. Two pellets fill a 3" Biodegradable Pot.

I got these on recommendation by a salesperson and I'm really glad that I did. It worked so well with my seed starting self watering trays. Easy to use, very little mess and the perfect amount of medium to grow seeds. We have tomatoes and beans growing in our tray. Wow.

Used these to get a jumpstart on some seeds in the atrium. The pellets are easy to work with and manage.

Nothing holding pellets together
from Loveland, CO
I was expecting stand-alone pellets for seed starting. I put several into a pan of water, and they dissolved into compost rather than springing up to make individual pots.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Pop these into the individual cells of the greenhouse seedling tray, plant seeds, water as needed and away you go!

I would buy them again
I got both the pots and pellets . I had both of my grandkids over for the weekend . So we did a planting project together. They both got really excited to see the growing pellets grow when you add water. We planted tomato seeds for the garden . They stayed under the growing lights until they were big enough to transplant to the garden . The growing pellets and pots were a great hit with the kids. We made some great memories .
