Any standing water can breed swarms of mosquitoes, even your birdbath or rain barrel. Our Mosquito Control Rings contain Bt israelensis, a naturally occurring bacterium that kills mosquito larvae for a full 30 days. Each slow-release, floating Control Ring treats 100 square feet of surface area in your pond or water garden.

Comments about Mosquito Control Rings:
I'm an avid gardener living in an area with low yearly rainfall totals. So I have rainbarrels in 8 different places. Then I also have overflow barrels sitting seperately in case anything gets full. But standing barrels of water breeds mosquitoes, especially in hot and dry weather. Since I've started these, the bug population in my yard has reduced tremendously. When I ran out for a few weeks, my family and I were getting bit constantly when outside. Yes, they work!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

These rings are easy and do work. Small amounts of water require smaller amounts of the control, so the rings can be broken or crumbled according to amount needed. They have made a difference in the increasing number of mosquitoes in our area.

After reading the label we realized that this product was only safe for containers. We bought it for boggy spots on our land up north. Not safe if it enters the water table.
