The openings on the cage surrounding this polycarbonate tube feeder are just the right size for finches, nuthatches and other small birds, but keep out jays and other feeder bullies. The latching top stays firmly in place to help keep gray squirrels out of your birdseed, and drainage holes at the bottom keep seed dry and fresh.

This is a good feeder to have for small birds - keeps out the bluejays and squirrels.
I have bought this item twice: once for me and one as a gift

I love how this feeder works. I modified the lid when the squirrels learned to open the twist-off lid: I ran a wire from one side of the cage over the top, wrapped the wire once around the top knob, and latched the wire to to the opposite side. after months of use, I was able to remove the wire permanently without the squirrels even trying to open the lid.
Birds hated it
from Mountain View, CA
The birds at my feeder HATED this model. We gave them 2+ weeks to adjust, but most of our birds just stopped coming. They seemed nervous to go inside the cage, probably because it makes it hard for them to fly away rapidly. Our nuthatches - already nervous feeders - wanted nothing to do with it. The holes in the cage are on the small side, so only the chickadees fit through easily. The round shape also meant that birds standing on the floor of the feeder didn't fit comfortably - the finches' tails kept getting caught on the cage. This feeder is easy to fill and hang, but that's the only good news, as the top is difficult to fasten and poorly machined.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This's a great feeder for the small birds. Squirrels haven't done damage to it so far. First squirrel proof feeder that works.
Would buy again

I have a lot of squirrels, it's funny to watch them try to get to the seed.

I gave it to my bird loving brother in law.He lives in the country near Austin texas and there are tons of small birds that need a safe place to eatThank you all for your fine products
Seems to be what we needed
We have a lot of Starlings and Grackels, especially in late winter, so it seems that this feeder should do the job to keep them from gobbling down the seed on a daily basis.

NOT squirrel proof
from Toccoa, GA
The globe feeder is pretty and lets small birds feed in peace. I bought it in the hope that it would be squirrel proof. Should have read the reviews. It took a squirrel about 30 seconds to open the top lid. Now reading the reviews, I worry about it posing danger to birds once open. Will try to figure out a way to close the top of the tube better, but disappointed with the product.
