For over 25 years, our garden carts have been a beloved tool of gardeners everywhere. That’s because they were designed specifically to meet the needs of gardeners, not adapted from an industrial utility cart. The big pneumatic wheels roll easily over rough terrain. High sides prevent loose loads like mulch and compost from bouncing out. The axle is positioned to distribute the weight and balance the load. The long handle lets you push or pull with equal ease and has a comfortable neoprene grip. Tough, rust-proof aluminum frame; end slides open for easy dumping. Once you own one of our carts, it’s hard to imagine getting by without it. In fact, many of the original carts are still out there, working hard. Rated "Excellent" by a leading consumer magazine.

A Must for the True Gardener
By Yankee Farmer

The garden cart we purchased back in 1994 looks pretty beat up standing next to the brand new one, butstill performs flawlessly. The new addition is so we can have "his (new) and "hers" (beat up) to divide andconquer the yard work. Current assignment: wood-splitting/hauling. We are confident that the shiny one will greatly help expedite all tasks demanded of it.
A challenge to assemble, but a nice product when finished
from Wilmette, IL
I had the same experience as some other reviewers. For most products that require assembly, i enjoy the process. But not this one. The instructions aren't great and the pre-drilled holes are much too tight. I abided, but it took quite a bit longer than I expected. The final step - attaching the wheels to the axle - was the worst. The pre-drilled holes on the axle were a tiny bit off, but just enough so as to make the cotter pins impossible to fit. After a lot of frustration - and one very bent cotter pin - I managed to finish the project. It works well and looks nice, but I am concerned about the security of the wheels on the axle. The mismeasurement of the axle - though slight - is inexcusable. For the sake of other customers, please fix it!
garden cart review
I have used a garden cart for many years and this one replaces one that is over 25 years old and starting to show it's age. I know this one will also last many years.

We use it in the garden daily.
Great cart for hauling across the yard.
I recently moved to a new home and this card was extremely useful in reducing trips across the yard as well as making heavy items easy to transport (I used my sister's cart). Loved it so much I bought one of my own. It took some time for me to assemble but the directions on how to do it are included. Can't wait to use my own cart in the garden and more.

Very nice cart but tough assembly
from Richmond, VA
This is the second Vermont garden cart I've purchased--the first one lasted 20+ years. It's a very nice cart, carries a good deal of weight with little effort, and is easy to move about the garden. However, the assembly was tedious and exasperating. It took me 2-1/2 hours to assemble, only to discover that the axle was too short and the wheel hubs rested on the bottom of the cart--which apparently was a problem that had come up with this cart in the past. Customer service was excellent! Everyone I spoke with was knowledgeable, efficient and patient. I did receive a replacement axle, which barely fits, but I can live with it (I'm definitely not going to disassemble this cart to send it back.) To make this a truly worthwhile experience, the manufacturer should pre-install the T-nuts. There are 34 of them, and pounding them into the dry wood was way too difficult, and in some cases it was impossible to pound them in flush with the wood. My advice--definitely wear ear plugs, and put a piece of wood on the underside of the panels when pounding the nuts into the cart body. I would rate the assembly 2-star, and the cart 4-star.

I liked the aluminum reinforced edges on all wood panels. I would loose fit all screws and connecters until you get it together. I struggled to get the axle and tires to fit.
